Re: WK 2 Point Pleasant @ (1-0) Gallia Academy
I have no idea when we will be getting a new feild but I am sure that we will keep playing on the old one until we do. As for them spending money on the feild, if it were not for the city paying for the water it would never get any applied. Check it out the city pays for the water at Mem. Feild. Good Luck tonight Blue, I say Blue 28- PHS 20. By the way the freshman team played hard Thursday and looked much better than the last two years and the JVs looked good as well. There is definatley a lot of talent on that jv team GO BLUE

Re: WK 2 Point Pleasant @ (1-0) Gallia Academy
devils won 28-21 allen wasonga is better than advertised he scored 3 times for point and gahs couldnt stop his speed, turnovers killed point they lost 3 fumbles and threw 2 picks, gahs scored 2 rushing touchdowns,1 passing touchdown and a 98 yard fumble return for a td by austin wilson, gahs had many many penalties which killed countless drives,...if point can stop turning the ball over they will not lose another game

Great game, the Wasanga kid is the real deal and has great breakaway sped. The Devils are playing together and are giving it there all. We distributed the ball to a lot of different kids and they all seem to be getting better. It is great that there is no "super star" and everyone goes out there and does there job.

Definitely a heartbreaker - we had the lead 21-14 and had it inside the five and then Derek Mitchell fumbled, resulting in the fumble return for the TD. Absolute heartbreaker to say the least.
Allan had 14 carries for 156 yards. He cramped up in the second half, along with the rest of our team!, but hey, that's how it goes I guess. We played hard even through the pain, and that's all you can ask.

Yes, the Wasonga kid is good, had it not been for cramps he would have had more yards and maybe more scores. The Dagger....Pt fumbling on the two and Wilson returned it for a TD, this was the turning point. Would like to compliment GAHS for not panicking when behind, right off the bat the passing game worked a little then Pt. started getting pressure and a few sacks. Then the ground game came alive, Allison, Grimm, Moore, Golden and Wilson ran hard and made positive yardage, yeah some drives stalled but that happens. Good ballgame, Pt. doesn't need to hang their head, they hit hard, and played well, also the Mitchell kid is good runner, Pt is gonna win some games this year. Did notice a lotta cramping again. One thing that could use a little improvement, well a couple, tackling, getting the plays in...how many delay of games were called...., kicking coverages. Can't wait to see how many all purpose yards Wasonga had, I'm gonna guess 250+, punt return for TD, 73 yd run for TD, can't remember the first one, but what a show. Good Luck Pt. it was a nice rivalry for all those years, gonna miss it.

Cramps I think - i'm not sure really though.
I had to laugh when the ref flagged Allan for taunting in the end-zone after that td run when he was in pain and he was just bowing because he was in pain, lol. Glad they picked that one up because that would have been pretty awful to call that. He's a gutsy kid, I think he showed everyone that tonight.

hailing from west virginia, i admit that sometimes my opinion may be somewhat biased... this is not one of those times. half time 14-0... thought the black nights had it, however my props go to the blue devils. excellent game, precision third and fourth quarters. could be a major force to deal with in future games.

Re: WK 2 Point Pleasant @ (1-0) Gallia Academy
well made it out to the game for the first time this year and i graduated from gallia awile back and i am a blue devil fan but i am confused. why is it that we always play the people who have the last name? I know a few kids who have played in scrimmages and in the athens game who were on the sideline tonight. why is that? and i know for a fact they are better than the people who were playing tonight. they could have used then on the line tonight on the offensive and defensive ends tonight. one of them inpaurticular is the offisive and defensive tackle and he has been started but he seen limited time..i think he is # 53. does anyone know this kids name? was he in some kind of trouble why he didn't play that much tonight. overall i think it was a very exciting game and i applaud point in a great effort and speed kills and it killed us tonight. i think that next week at ironton if the coaches play people by their last names like gallia is known for its going to be a long night. people need to relieze play people to win not just please the parents and its the truth i played sports at gallia and i excelled if i didn't have talent i would not have played because i didn't have the last name. but overall good game to both teams and good luck next week to both teams also

Great game ............ one of the coaches for GAHS said that they 3 or 4 kids getting
I-V's at half time . Some said that one of the starters for GAHS went to hospital at half time , hope that he is ok .
Best Pt team I had seen in years , and good luck to them ....9-1 we hope !
It also looked like it was GAHS 1st game , with all those flags on two big runs .
If they want to hang with the tigers , they have to stop that !!
Go Blue .......

devilfan08, # 53 is Logan Wamsley. I am not sure why is isn't playing more minutes. I did notice that some of the defensive linemen were being shuttled in and out last night, including #53.
I am not a coach but I have been told that #53 was the strongest and fastest lineman on the team. Must be someother reason to keep him off of the field.
