The average pass completion in NCAA D I football is 7 yards. It is all about yards after catch. Go Bulldogs!!!!!

Great game by both teams on both sides of the ball. Warren was a very physical team as was Athens. Athens defense rose to the challenge presented by the Warren offense and their coaching staff. They run a pretty sophisticated offense with a check at the line system. Athens D picked off Leffingwell 4 times, almost 5 and did a great job holding them to only 14 points. Rider and Sharpe get much of the glory each week and many are overlooked. LB/FB Chris Russell is the best all around player I have seen in years. He does everything and gives 100% and never comes off the field. Trevor Sorrell is a dominating d-lineman and constantly splits double teams and creates problems in the backfield for opponents passing and running games. Great job boys, keep up the good work!

This could have been a different game if Warren had come out a little more run than passing.

Props to Athens they are a very good team and only had the one turnover which turned out to be the winning formula...a few sour grapes after viewing the film the Fivecoait kid did not interfere with the defender on Warren's last drive....the player actually tripped while backing up but because Fivecoait had his hand up it appeared he pushed him....tough call also on the aiding the runner call, Leffingwell was already in the end zone when the running back pushed him in the back....a rare call and these two calls took 14 points off the scoreboard....again not taking anything away from Athens, they had a very good defensive scheme that I'm sure other teams will use as well....maybe we should start out throwing a couple of hitches or safer passes against these better teams until we get a handle on what the opponent is doing with their coverages.....Athens may well win out but has a couple of tough games to get through.....Warren hopefully will take their frustration out on a winless Portsmouth team that appears to be struggling in all 3 phases....let's hope that continues at least one more week....

warriorfrosh I agree that the aiding the runner was a poor call by the refs, but offensive pass interference call imo although rare was legit. It seemed like the fivecoat kid pulled the Athens player down with the hand he had on his jersey. Either way nobody will really know. The ref had good position on the play to make the call and it happened to work out for Athens in the end. Very well could have been Warren 21 Athens 19.

I was standing down at the end zone on this play and frosh is right with what they saw, it should have been called against Athens' defense but can't change the call now so we just move on from here.

I was standing on the track at the goal line 10 feet away for this play and it was definately interference on Fivecoait, I had the pleasure of viewing the Athens coaches film of this game yesterday and the foul is clear, also I'm still not sure he actually caught the ball. It looked to me as if it hit the ground and he picked it up as if he made the grab. Either way it is over now lets move on to th rest of our seasons. Good luck to Warren the rest of the way.
