We punt the ball 50 yds and the opposition returns it 45 because the coverage jogs to the ball. Unless Curtis kicks the ball in the end zone, or out of bounds the same thing happens on kickoffs. Our coaches are using kickoffs to get fresnmen quarters, while some of our best tacklers watch from the sidelines. In 5 games these nonstarters have 0 tackles, it's time for our coaches to wake up and get our hitters in the lineup. Our coaches say they need to rest them, well they didn't rest them last season and they seemed to do pretty well.
Wouldn't be because these freshman are coaches sons or sons of coaches friends would it??

After his 20 tackles at Tremble he was demoted to weakside linebacker and was told he wasn't trying hard enough and we had only one good player on the team(one of our receivers) and 22 carries up the middle for 93 yds, he wasn't running hard and had an I don't care attitude. This is bull crap, no one on the team tries harder or cares more than Ashton. I guarantee, if you ask our opponets coaches they would love to have him on their team. I don't understand why our coaches don't get on the punt coverage team for not running to the ball instead of lollygagging down the field, or the o-line for not blocking, and for our super star receiver for not trying to tackle. If we had 11 players that tried as hard as Ashton, we would win every game. The only way he could possibly please these coaches is if he changed his name.
Go Eagles
Agreed gpgm6566,no one plays harder than Ashton and maybe the coaches should take a look at their play calling before putting the blame on Ashton. Superman couldn't gain a yard for Belpre when the whole world knows that he is coming up the middle on every 1st or 2nd down.
Ashton takes a beating simply because the other teams know exactly when and where he is coming and the coaches refuse to adjust their plays to get him some free space to run in.If they ever ran a play action pass on 1st down they would have 3 receivers wide open down the field because everyone would converge on Ashton up the middle.Eric is a good little player, mainly on the defensive side and as a receiver but he is no tailback and has a problem holding on to the ball so expect more fumbles and pray that the kid doesn't get hurt real bad. I have tried to just watch the games and not be critical of the coaches but this makes no sense to me and i have to say that the coaches are the main problem in Belpre's offense (or lack of it),not Ashton.Make adjustments and give him some help and he will show them why he is the player that was TVC POY last year.

nybucksmom wrote:You said it gpgm6566!!! N-Y has an awesome wrestling team and program. With the loss of some top wrestlers last year to graduation, they didn't do as well as the previous 5 years, but with the freshmen wrestlers coming-in, they're gonna get those wins again! That group coming in may be part of the best wrestling team N-Y has ever had.![]()
Belpre has a fine wrestling program as well. Packard is one of their best...probably why he's a hell-of-a football player, too!![]()
You all my look down on other sports at N-Y, but I remember when our basketball team won league (when I was in school) and our girls' volleyball and basketball teams were pretty good just a few short years ago (getting league titles).
Wins and losses come and go in phases...one hates to see the losses come, but it happens. Regardless, you should always support your team and never turn your back on them. Those kids work just as hard and have just as much heart as anyone and they deserve the support. So kiss-off to those of you knocking N-Y's sports programs! My son is grown and out of school now, but I'm an alum and I'll always back those kids up!
GO BUCKS!!!

Have you seen Nelsonville in other sport besides football? They're horrible. They would be at the bottom in everything in the SEOAL in all other sports. Of course, they are in the TVC Ohio. I'd say their AD likes to keep the other sports down so football in the king up there in York.
nybucksmom wrote:spartanpride.....Little boy, you just stepped on the wrong toes....I'm a wrestling mom, even though my son has graduated, I'll always be a "wrestling mom". I'd hate to see one of them get ahold of you. "deadmeat" would be your new name on here. You couldn't hang for 5 seconds with a wrestler, because you have no clue what work ethic or determination is. All you do is run your mouth and nothing but crap comes out of it.
For your information, there are people at Alexander who are working to start a wrestling program there. I work with the youth league and they have a youth team in it. Hopefully, they'll get the programs going in the middle school and high school over there in the next few years. Wrestling is a sport that not only builds strength, but character as well. It would be a fine addition to your school.
