I don't know what the circumstances are surrounding the decision to go so I will just say good luck to the young man in whatever he and his family decide to do, but I would have liked to see his skills develop over the next four years.

What Catholic schools are there near Nelsonville? Fischer is the closest I can think of. If so good luck, they have been terrible. Nelsonville would be the best fit for a Nelsonville grown kid, but good luck to him and his family if they are choosing to leave. Go Bucks!

I don't know about Bookman going to another school.
I know his dad and my sister is friends with them also and this is the first any of us had heard about it. It doesn't make any sense to me why a coach would send his kid to another school unless he is going to coach there to and I really don't think that is the case.
Whatever happens his family will make the best decision for him.

Must be moving then or they have a family member that works near there or something... doesn't sound too healthy for a young growing kid to go to school 60+ miles away from where his friends and family are... especially if they have to commute... is this fritz bookman's boy?

I haven't been around in a while so I do not pretend to know the situation or understand what is going on, but I hope this is not a "knee-jerk" reaction or something. Best of luck to the family and the Buckeyes.

Unfortunately, these are not rumors. While I hate to see him leave the NY school district, I wish him well at Watterson.

Orange - and - Brown - We were thinking of having Arnold come to Athens ... That's our plan anyway for a replacement of Tope .....

I got him a cute little blonde lined up to keep him warm and snuggly come winter time; and a nice brand new Green & Gold 4 x 4 to drive around Athens ... Maybe he will cruise back up to Nelsonville and give you a ride in it.

What, that doesn't souind good to you Orange&Brown?

I thought it did .... lol

To answer your question about Tope ... It may end up being a RBBC. Athens has 3 or 4 guys that played a lot last year in the backfield ....Robbie Glass, Joey Young and Reed Anderson are all real good athletes and aren't afraid to run between the tackles .... they kind of shared that fullback position with Tope as the tailback ... Next year, im sure one of them will emerge and take over for Tope but it may come down to all three sharing the load ... Plus, ive been hearing that a kid that didn't play last year might be coming back to play this fall ... I guess he's a pretty good runner, but with not a lot of varsity experience im kinda of skeptical at this point.

It might not matter really who carries the ball with the green and gold next year though .... TREY HARRIS will be the feature of the offense ... I think .... He showed a lot of moxy last year playing QB as a soph and with 6'3 Frank Valentour and speedy Shad McCollum as wideouts - Athens could be putting the ball in the air about 50% of the time.
