Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
I have heard first round of interviews will be in late February. Not sure who the candidates are they will be interviewed. Seems that this whole thing has been hush hush and a very slow process. Best of luck to those making the decision. Would like to see some consistency brought back into the GA program.

Heard Justy might be on the short list
The BEST thing about people from Wellston is that they have JACKSON on their license plates!
Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
I am not sure that is the right time table for interviews. But i agree probably will not be a coach hired for the job until march. unless they are interviewing everyone. Because i know someone was asked if he would be able to be interviewed this week. This person should have no real shot at getting this job but they did apply and was called. I only know this because this guy goes to church with us and i know him pretty well. He has very little coaching experience in football. And none since he has moved to this area.Fonzie wrote:I have heard first round of interviews will be in late February. Not sure who the candidates are they will be interviewed. The attendance for weight lifting seems to be pretty good for this time of year.

Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
the school in the southern end of gallia county has had the most success in the past decade of anyone in gallia county. maybe the ga administration should get somebody from down that way to coach. lots of ga talent has headed south the past few years. must be a reason.
Re: GA Football Job
I totally agree. If you can teach those two things along with making it enjoyable enough that the kids all come out for Junior high football. If you have done those things I feel it would be total success.Poo Bear wrote:Orange and Brown wrote:Having the varsity coach involved in youth football doesn't mean much. We are talking about kids in 3rd thru 6th grade. They don't need to be involved in any offense or defense that the high school runs. At that age it's about blocking and tackling. Those are the important things kids that age should be learning.
Thank you OB. Most people don't get that and it's so true

What attendance? There has yet to be any football workouts since season ended. To my knowledge, the only way a football kid is working out is they play a winter/spring sport and are working out with that program or if they are joining that sports workouts just to have access to the weight room. Even then I only have heard of 3 maybe 4 kids doing that.
Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
Well if they are not working out why are all the football players car at the locker room on 4th about 7 am when I go through?
Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
At least 2 mornings a week.. I am not through there everyday.. also have saw them a couple of evenings but that may have been winter sport specificsvac83 wrote:Well if they are not working out why are all the football players car at the locker room on 4th about 7 am when I go through?

I am not trying to argue with you on it, I am simply saying of kids that I have been told about. I hope they are getting a workout in before school. I wonder who is running that workout since a coach hasn't been hired?
Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017
One day i believe i saw coach Harris there. Not positive. who was there the other time.. Someone PM me that at least one evening they were moving some stuff... Who knows maybe they have been just moving and cleaning stuff. I have no kids on the team now to know. I do know a lot of the boys when i see them. I have a daughter that is friends with a lot of them.Fonzie wrote:svac83 wrote:At least 2 mornings a week..
