I just coached against the 8th ranked team in the nation according to MaxPreps.

Does that make me any more worthwhile as a coach?

No. Why?

National rankings are useless.

Although I personaly like and trust several of the guys inside and believe there are qualified candidates the sentiment I have got from the comunity and have heard of the players is a lack of support for internal candidates. For this reason I fear that if an internal candidate is chosen that he will not be given support. Just the impression I have gotten.

No problem glad to clarify.

I would like to ask then though why you disagree? You believe the players and community are happy with the records we have posted lately? If that's the case why were so many against Clifford although I was one of the few that stated there were othere problems.

I mean I personally believe there are guys that if given support and the players respect could be successful as well just the feeling I get from talking to others makes me believe that it will be very hard to get that respect and support only because they have been on the staff the last few years. Sadly this has been part of our problem because the community stoped supporting Clifford and there for the team

I disagree because Ted Newsome is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

Clifford needed to go long ago. He was not. We cannot change the past.

Ted Newsome is not Clifford.

I agree that several guy inside are great people brave and warm. None of which are the reasons why several of them could be good head coaches. Although sadly I do not believe the comunity as a whole views them as quality candidates so again I'm afraid giving them the job would be setting them up for failur because they would not support them fully.

Side note Clifford was an awful warm and careing coach aswell in my oppinion.

Lost 56-7.

They will win Kentucky 6A going away.

Watch this. He is going to Ohio State - probably. We were lucky to contain him to 7 catches for 64 yards and 2 TDs.

That's Trinity out of Lousville right?

You said they were 8th ranked but that national rankings are garbage I'll agree that they are not the best comparison but they put it on your team, and you said they will win KY State going away. So they have done enough to earn your respect much as they have others to earn thier ranking. My question is since your positive they will win state you most have watched all the remaining ky teams and know nobody compares right? If not how is you proclaiming them the best in KY any different the developing national rankings without being able to see all teams?

Also I agree they are the real deal and a very impressive video.

They play St X. this week and Scott County (most likely) next week and then the State Championship at WKU.

None of these teams will give them much of a fight. I have seen St. X video and I coached against Scott County. The Western Kentucky side of the 6A bracket cannot compare to Trinity.

Scott County might keep it within a few touchdowns though. They run the Wing-T and if they can grind out some first downs like Moeller did in their win against Trinity then anything is possible.

So you have seen several but no you haven't seen them all. That's what I figured I have never seen trinity or any of the teams either but I agree I'm sure they are favored as they should be and I believe they have earned thier ranking same as I believe Charlotte Christian has earned theirs and we have earned the dismal position we are in.

I have seen the major playoff teams in the state of Kentucky.

I know that Trinity will win it all.

Nobody comes close. Having the pick of the litter in Louisville and giving all others table scraps (except maybe for St. X.) is ridiculous.

Honestly, I could care less what happens in North Carolina. I am glad that the Esteps are having such terrific success in the south. However, don't sell this bill of goods to the citizens of Portsmouth as if the Esteps have accomplished something great as winning the entire state of North Carolina when they have only been better than 4 other teams in their 5 team league.

Getting to the truth in the hazing incident would best before getting a new coach. With that said has Portsmouth done anything more to prevent hazing from happening on the other sports teams. Since BB season is about to start?

Whoever gets the Head Coaching Job needs to have a plan to get the football program back on track. But this also has to include an attitude change about football by parents and would be players. That hard work and performance gets you playing time. As well as your actions off the field can take playing time away. Also school work being a high priority. It will take time to rebuild.

We understand that you don't believe in Charlotte's State Championships, but they must mean something when they are ranked that high nationally! You say that these rankings are bogus, but there's such a large gap between Charlotte's rankings and this area's team rankings, that it must mean something.

We understand that the Esteps can't bring those players with him, we're just trying to say that they obviously know how to win with talent! Something Clifford and his ENTIRE staff did not know how to do. They utilize their players to the maximum potential, something I would love to be seen done to our kids.

I am not knocking Ted's integrity or character, he's a great guy, but that's not going to make him a good HC. There'd be a hard time "bringing back the fire" to Trojan football. People would not get excited again, and I hate to say it, but the kids would probably not respect him as much as they would an outsider.

Although Newsome is not Clifford, he was still on the staff for all these terrible recent years we've had. And that's something that's going to carry with him.
