Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Burg will look completely different than last years style. Huge Oline, quick and strong backs and a solid QB. Don't bet your money just yet. The D is allowing just 11 ppg.purplesage wrote:Woooooo!!! Taken shots already. And I was really nice to you folks last year after we failed to show up with our overachieving youth!!!! Well those overachieving youth. Are one year more experienced and hopefully a bit more disciplined and surely much bigger and better than last year!!! The Burg has been really good lately and appears to be continuing that trend but I'll put my bets on this not being a repeat of last year!!!!

Michael Davis will be by far the best athlete on the field Friday night, and Welch will be by far the most physical football player, with the most heart, May and Burk are both great athletes, but when you think all around, it's Michael Davis, he's a basketball player on the football field, it's like putting lebron on the football field lol, not saying Davis is lebron by any means, but he is the best athlete in SOC II
Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Best athlete in the SOCII is making a very big statement! Davis is a very good athlete, don't get me wrong, but the best in the SOC is a stretch.WestSideFan2002 wrote:Michael Davis will be by far the best athlete on the field Friday night, and Welch will be by far the most physical football player, with the most heart, May and Burk are both great athletes, but when you think all around, it's Michael Davis, he's a basketball player on the football field, it's like putting lebron on the football field lol, not saying Davis is lebron by any means, but he is the best athlete in SOC II

According to some kids at west from over the weekend, I thought I heard Davis was hurt? Maybe it was just a rumor that people ran with?

James played wide receiver for St. Vincent-St. Mary's football team in high school.[2]:51 As a sophomore, he was named first team all-state, and as a junior, he led the Fighting Irish to the state semifinals.[7] His football career came to an end before his senior year when he broke his wrist during an AAU basketball game.[20] Many sports analysts, football critics, high school coaches, and former and current players have speculated on whether he could have played in the National Football League.[2]:91[21][22][23][24]

Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
With his size, athleticism and good hands, I am not sure there is much speculation other than whether he would he have been a receiver or TE.D-5 wrote: Many sports analysts, football critics, high school coaches, and former and current players have speculated on whether he could have played in the National Football League.

Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Let's just see how that goes on Friday night. No doubt there will be athletes on the field. That's how you get a football team. And two teams make a game. One team I know for sure will put 11 athletes on the field. Any of those kids can change the game.
Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
The big difference with this year's Burg team is that you don't really know who is going to get the ball. Last week, there were 5 backs who each ran for 50 yards. Also, there are 3-4 receivers that will catch passes nearly every game. There are not the individual stats of the past 2 years, but the team is much more balanced and it is much harder to defend every target on the field. The last 2 years, you knew what was going to happen, but they were such good athletes that it was very hard to stop.

The Offensive Line helped with all those rushing yards. They opened holes for everyone. Great performance last week by the whole squad.4th n Goal wrote:The big difference with this year's Burg team is that you don't really know who is going to get the ball. Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Absolutely, the line has played well! I just was pointing out that you couldn't really concentrate on stopping 1 back. You could have Hutchinson, May, Howard, Burk, or Cunningham coming at you and getting nice yards. All have different styles of running and fresh legs all through the game is a good thing.Jolly P(irate) wrote:The Offensive Line helped with all those rushing yards. They opened holes for everyone. Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
I love the that the Pirates have gotten back to the power running game brings back memories of the Coach Hall years with the unbalanced line. I think this is gonna be a fairly close game with the Pirates pulling away in the second half 28-14.
Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Not too confident about that 28 points. West held LU to 13 at LU. And the present West coach(s) have had success vs Burg with (IMO) less overall talent before. And the game is on grass, and it may be wet, neither favor Burg.
