WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
West sweep, sweep, sweep. Nothing up the gut. Minford is slow to the outside. Good film for other teams. Then West wore out the interior linemen and the quick hits up the gut worked cause the linebackers didn't know where to go. Classic. I just want to know if Minford passes that much early on or just felt like the siders couldn't cover? And Minford 1st Qtr drives, the penalties were killing them. Read thru the Ptown times and don't remember reading about so many false starts and procedure penalties. They were punishing the Siders early on but cant figure out why they quit pounding them with the counters and traps. Triplett did what a good coach should do, if u find a way to make them pay, keep doing it over and over till they stop you. Minford couldn't stop the sweep. Unbelievable.

Fairland beats West by a decent margin
Minford smokes Portsmouth
West loses to Portsmouth in a competitive game.
It's scheduling when you blow teams out at the beginning of the year, it does no good. Your team is not mentally nor physically prepared for league play. Until Minford figures out playing teams Rock Hill and Northwest does more harm than good, you'll see this year in and year out. If Minford is all concerned about quantity of wins and not the quality of wins, lets just sign up to get into the SOCI.
West at least has the guts to schedule a school like Liberty Union at the beginning of the year. Even though West got beat badly by a multiple time regional champ, they knew what it took to get better, and they did it tonight. It paid off. Good job West!!

As I stated earlier in the thread that I though this was going to be a good close game. I didn't think there was going to be 63 points scored in it. Great job tonight West.

Yea I’m a class act and I’m also realistic. This was a great win for West, but against a team like Valley or Burg that’s coached well enough to exploit every weakness...I don’t see it happening. You don’t make the playoffs at 5-5......I HOPE THEY PROVE ME WRONG!urban buck wrote:CONGRATULATIONS WEST!
Bendzone you are such a class act.
And yea they are back in the playoff hunt

Minford was having all kinds of success throwing the ball to #12, but went away from it. Your not going to run up the gut much against West. You are right about Triplett doing his thing and running until you stop it ( bread and butter to him). As bad as I hate to say it, I will say it, Minford got out Coached.demaniac1 wrote:West sweep, sweep, sweep. Nothing up the gut. Minford is slow to the outside. Good film for other teams. Mostly no. But spots 7&8 are gonna be pretty pathetic point wise in this region. The top 5 or 6 are stoutEndzone_Warrior wrote:Yea I’m a class act and I’m also realistic. You’re delusional to think they are going to make the playoffs after a solid win against Minford!!playa_44 wrote:Endzone_Warrior wrote:Yea I’m a class act and I’m also realistic. The one thing that minford lacks is speed. They are pretty slow except a couple kids.Endzone_Warrior wrote:Minford was having all kinds of success throwing the ball to #12, but went away from it. Passing. Yeah they did some but their running the wrong offense for the kids they have. They need to go north and south instead of east and west. It defeats the purpose of having a big strong line

Right and 2 of them teams ahead of them are Portsmouth and Fairland, both teams who beat West. I just don’t think there’s a chance for this cinderella stuff to happen.siderman wrote:Mostly no. I don't recall the # of catches he had but if I remember right it was after the game kinda got away from Minford. And Minford WAS getting good yards early on but when the penalties hit them in West territory, they were pressed to pass. I still want to see the passing att this week vs all the other games Minford has played so far. I thought they passed a lot more this game than any other.Endzone_Warrior wrote:Minford was having all kinds of success throwing the ball to #12, but went away from it. I think we have a great shot against valley. It will be tough but coming into this game I thought valley was the most winnable of the three. After west dominated Chesapeake it made a believer out of me. I don't care if valley played bad against Chesapeake or overlooked them. They should have physically manhandled them and they didn't. We can play with valleyEndzone_Warrior wrote:I’ve eaten crow before and if West was to pull off the unthinkable 2 more times....I would be glad to do so again!

Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
Minford was trying to pass probably based on what they have seen on film. West can’t handle a good passing team, they just aren’t built to stop it. Minford isn’t built to pass, but early on Minford had success with wide receivers wide open. If West can’t figure out a way to defend in the secondary the Valley and Burg games are going to be very long nights.demaniac1 wrote:I don't recall the # of catches he had but if I remember right it was after the game kinda got away from Minford. I hope so! That’s why the games are played...but I can’t see it happening. Atleast this game last year was a good ball game, Valley beat West 30-0.....siderman wrote:I think we have a great shot against valley.
