Although both radio shows, Power 105 and 107 give out scores, I don't think I'll turn off my cell/phone apps, twitter account, facebook account or not look at southeasternohiopreps so I can wait around on a radio show late at night to hear them ... lol

its 2013 moonshine.

Four and one-half hours before Athens invades Gallipolis for 2013 grid opener on Memorial Field.

Uh, where do you think all the scores come from that the radio hosts give out?

Anyone with an internet device can locate the exact same information - and 90% of them do.

Back when Pancake gave out scores - it was great and helpful ... but now with the smart phones, iPhones - fans are getting scores while they sit and watch the games unfold.

Too much #2 for Athens, too many mental errors by The Blue Devils.

To much Athens for Gallia......

Anyone who thought this game would be close wasn't paying attention to the horses in Athens stable.
The dogs hardly threw the ball and did all that damage. Wait til they open up the playbook.

Have to say Athens is for real. Line and defense looked tough. Scored 62 and burrow only through 18 passes

I've got a fresh 9 volt right here! I never saw that coming, I mean I thought our kids had a really good chance to win but that was impressive. Gallia will improve a lot in the next couple of weeks when they get the scheme down a bit better and Warnimount not able to go was big on both sides but especially on defense. Good luck to Gallia from here on out.

as advertised the line is a big problem for blue devils, as is overall size especially on defense. athens just pretty much did what they wanted

Athens is just flat out good. So quick too. The Devils still have a lot of kinks to work out. Especially in the no huddle offense. They often looked confused and took a lot of time setting up and Athens adjusted right with them on D. Also, too many dropped passes and the line will have to adjust blocking schemes. I'm sure the Devils will work hated to fix these things and come out strong next week. Go Blue.

I caution you fans at Gallia who are a bit down this morning to give this group a few weeks to get the system down. Gallia did have some alignment issues especially when an audible was being called and realignment was required but those are things that the kids will just naturally do in a couple of more weeks and the difference will be huge. Gallia had good play calling in my opinion, a couple of Jarrell passes were just a little overthrown to some open receivers and a few balls that were thrown very well over the middle were just flat out dropped on plays that should have been good gains. Wade Jarrell is dangerous at any time and Wes Jarrell showed flashes of things to come also, Logan Allison was all over the place making plays on both sides of the ball and #50 who's name is eluding me was a beast on Defense. Lets not forget that Gallia wasn't exactly playing the sisters of the poor last night either, Athens has the potential to be a pretty good football team this season and Gallia is a team that is still growing a bit, things will get better soon. Rock Hill is coming to town next week and I'll bet the boys in blue give them a rude welcoming. I wish the Devils all the best for the rest of the year and hope Warnimount gets on the field soon.

Congrats to Athens, gave us an old fashion butt kicking... When your best plays are fake punts it is hard to win... I am glad we got a new special teams coach because I saw things never seen before on Memorial Field... LOL.... Better times are ahead for GAHS, once we get into the meat of our schedule the offense will look much better.... One thing we did do to Athens last night was expose there glaring weakness.. Lack of pass protection, talk all you want about how well your line played but I didn't see it. We pressured your QB all night into leaving the pocket and hurrying many passes.. Given the time he will kill any team. #2 had a great game but we helped out his stats by missing a lot of tackles. Athens just had the better team, we gave them many golden opportunities to score and they took advantage of it...

Congrats to Athens!!!! All the preseason hype appears to be well founded!!! Probably the most embarrassed of a GA team that I've been in a long time!!! Never adjusted protection to stop Athens' blitz package or figured out that Athens had 1 and sometimes 2 LB's spying on Jarrell!!! Just kept running the same plays with the same result!!! Also was really embarrassed by a couple of GA parents for trying to pick fights with the Athens coaching staff in the press box after the game was out of hand!!! No class at all!!!

"Just kept running the same plays with the same result!!! " Glad someone else besides me noticed this... Jarrel is a good QB, every team we play will be keying on him for obvious reasons. When Warnamount gets healthy he should take some of the pressure off Jarrel...

There are always a few people in the stands who are going to have hard feelings and choose to show it in a poor manor but I will say that I was impressed with the actions of both schools on the field. I didn't see any cheap shots or "dirty" play from either side and there weren't any personal fouls called last night. Sometimes the people in the stands can learn things from the kids on the field.
