Caldwell held their own against Belpre and Williamstown, our QB was good.

Tanner is a competitor, he'll only continue to get better. Athletic, tough and a great kid.Cattywampus wrote: Sat Aug 11, 2018 11:28 pm Caldwell held their own against Belpre and Williamstown, our QB was good.

After seeing some scrimmage play and highlights, I change my prediction. Think Caldwell gets the narrow win in this.

I certainly agree. I watched Buckeye Trail on Saturday and the lost to Shadyburg. Watched the Caldwell scrimmage on line and think the skins just look better.

Re: WK1 2018 Caldwell @ Buckeye Trail
Not really sure about earlier post, talking about these two teams but after watching BT play in a few scrimmages they don't look down, agree with post about having a few young starters, but pretty solid core returning. Going to be a new look for trail, alot of passing and not leaning on the run as they have in the past. Watched film of Caldwell scrimmage, they look like they have the ivy boy and not much else. I have them finishing fourth in the pvc just ahead of frontier. BT wins this one 42-6, with Caldwell scoring late against backups.

Several observations.
Trail played solid defense all night. 7 of Caldwell’s points came off of returned kickoff for Ivey TD.
Both teams threw the ball a lot. Trail had too many athletes in space. Probably 300 yards passing by them.
I think Caldwell has a lot to build on. Their lines played pretty well.

It wasn't as close as the score but penalties kept it close for the skins.
