Thanks for following, it's hilarious how some ppl know the truth but they don't want to accept the truth and that's pretty much the category I place you in. What's really funny is when you were trying to explain to everyone how Portsmouth should be doing this and not a single person backed your point of view up and you just ran off. You'll be ok and you'll understand by season end ;)
I think people will be pleasantly surprised with this west team. Some really good football players and athletes. The underdog role will be just fine. There will always be speculation with new players. But they should be in every game athletically. The true test is when it becomes a chess match as to if they can be put in a position to win? That is a big question mark.
What "underdog role"? Consensus seems to be West will be fighting Burg for SOC II championship and should make a run in D6 playoffs. They have a solid senior class back and probably have the favorites for league lineman of the year (Woods) and back of the year (Parker). Anything less than 7-3 and a few playoff wins would be somewhat of a disappointing season for West.*

I’m confused by the continuing comment as to whether the kids will be put into position to win or not. Can you elaborate? West has been successful the previous 2 seasons with multiple players flourishing.

I’m thought the same thing. Sounds like a parent of a player who has an issue with one or all the coaches for whatever reason.

I was hoping that wasn’t the case. 19 wins in 2 seasons with the schedule only becoming more competitive each year is something to be proud of. I’ve also heard kids who haven’t played football for West in years have been coming out to play the past 2 seasons for the program for the first time in their high school career. Must be doing something right over there. 45-50 players as a Division 6 program is another positive.

I haven’t had one play for a few years now. It would do no good to elaborate much, you both seem to have all the answers, but I’m bored so I’ll entertain you. The losses the past few years is where the real answers lie. Being out schemed and lack of preparation is a direct reflection of your staff regardless. I don’t care how many cup cake wins you have, It’s the big games that matter. At this rate they have failed to win many of those games. Can’t say the talent hasn’t been there to do so. Staff has lost many of them games. If you know football when two good teams clash it becomes a chess match between coaches. The team most prepared, limits mistakes, makes adjustments wins 99% of the time. So just to clarify for you when I talk about being put in the right position this is what I mean. The Predictability, lack of preparation, and lack of adjustments is where the problem is with this staff. Please spare me with the lack of player execution because at the end of the day that falls under lack of preparation period.

If you haven’t had one play for years then in that time the Senators have only had 4 total losses including playoffs. In that time span they have won the first SOC championship since 2008. I’m Not stating any “answers” per say, just stating something that is fact not opinion. Also, was just asking you to elaborate on your statement saying “the staff does not put players in positions to succeed” while helping them win 80% of their games in that timeframe. Additionally, in the past two seasons of the 19 wins accumulated 10 of those have been against programs with a winning record. I wouldn’t refer to those “cupcakes” in my opinion. Don’t confuse predictability with strength of team. In the bleachers it can look as though it’s predictable when its actually playing to the strength of the team. I remember in 2022 West would be in the I formation and pounding the rock for 300 yards rushing then come out the next game and have 3 passing TD’s on 10 attempts before half. For me, it was extremely difficult to predict the offense any given friday night. Last season, this was not much of an option not having a true passing QB behind center but they were creative in scheme incorporating the QB in the run game with his athleticism as well as the RB and WR. Moving the ball around making sure your best players got touches and opportunities.
