I was told that the WCH AD had stated that they would name a Head Coach at the January board meeting. Looks like the meeting is on Monday so they probably have their guy at this point, just waiting to recommend him to the board. I have a buddy with kids in the district and he said that he heard Coach Williamson was a finalist but could not confirm. Said he also heard of an assistant coach from Greenfield being a finalist and an assistant coach from Springfield. Not sure if that was the final three or not.

I was told they most likely will have their pick by end of week. I was told there are 6 finalists.

So who is their pick? Did the new coach get board approved last night at the meeting?

Oh wow, I definitely don't agree with waiting that long. That means that the new coach likely wouldn't be able to get any offseason program going until March. I agree with your sentiment of setting the program back. It is definitely going to put the new coach behind the 8 ball in terms of getting things started.

Rumor is week 3 will be Brookville for WCH.

Interesting matchup for sure. Brookville is a very solid Region 16 team. WCH will have their work cut out for them. Wonder if its just a 1 year deal or a 2 year deal.

Luckily this season, WCH non conference schedule is much more manageable IMO. I think realistically they can go into league play with 2-3 wins. I think they are better off taking their time with this hire. WCH I think can be looking at 5-6 wins this year.. that might be a hot take, but I think its possible.

Was at the McClain basketball game a few days ago and they people from there I spoke to seem to think their offensive Coordinator is getting the job.

Or - they offered someone, and that individual ended up declining, and now they are scrambling to make an offer to someone else.

I spoke to someone who was on the hiring committee today. This person said it was down to 2 people and that no decision has been made.

Also heard from a friend that chuck would have a very tough battle at the school board if he was selected. Said that 2 board members are a firm NO. if they get one more then he could not be approved.

Hope that NIL Deal works out. Also contracts are yearly deals they are normally 1 year contracts.

They do have 2 people but, one was offered. You are correct Fayette_Panther1963. They are working out a contract deal. If that falls through they will go to #2.

Just don't understand why they would bring him back. I would say 80 percent of the people I talk to don't want him back. They know what it brings. For a district that speaks culture so much they don't put it to practice. I know several who have said they will stop supporting the program... is 1 guy really worth losing so many good people. And I truly don't think this go around will be better for chuck. But hey, that's why they all get paid. If it bites them in the butt there will be people coming after heads around here.

I have never met the man. I hear nothing put praises from people in and around the district. I have heard there are 2 groups of people making their voices heard. A group of people wanting chuck back and a group of people who say, give us anyone but chuck. I do hear that this Oakes guy from Greenfield is in the final 2. So looks like down to these guys. There must be some heat coming from all sides on this one for a coach not to be announced by now. Looks like Kimlimg in a no win situation.

I get that, but I feel like the longer that he drags this out, the worse off he will be. I would just make a decision and stand by it. He's been doing this long enough to know that there is typically backlash with all coaching decisions in one way or another. You can't please everyone. If he is waiting on everyone to be on board and to all agree with a decision, they will begin next season without a head coach lol.

They need to take option 2. New fresh start. They don't need to go back to being a undisciplined program that also filters down to the other sports.
