Taggart was the best QB I have seen at N-Y,he could pick a defense apart and was accurate, but didn't have to most the time because their running game and defense was so good.

I even think Jamie James, Gary Haines and Glass from the old Grayhounds were good.

Derek Arnold was one of the best tailback to play for NY, and Jay Edwards was one heck of an athlete as well.
Taggart was a heck of a qb
Brad Woodson was an animal
May's goes without saying.
Ben Roby was one heck of a ballplayer.

Gail..flat out good do it all back..
Woodson was is the man he got it done..
I'd say robey best qb..could run throw and and ran the option to perfection. .Darren Lawson beast in the middle
Arnold flat out heart of a lion..Casey nungaster the Murry city manic..probably the toughest football player I seen speed power..and when you caught him he would punish the defender..Dustin young amazing speed.
Re: Greatest football players in nelsonville York history
Trent Gallentin (sp) was a pretty fast back himself on them good teams, once he got in the open you could just wave goodbye most the time.Tolliver and Jones were good lineman on them teams.

He's who I'm most familiar with. I saw a 10-0 NY team give Ironton all they could handle in the playoffs one year in Spartan Stadium. I think 92 or 93.Poo Bear wrote:With all the great teams and talent that has come through Nelsonville York, who are some of the top players
