Say hellooooo....junior class they will replace build...back they have a heack of a player in Ryan Robertson returning and a very talented junior class...you may see alot of no named people...they loss all except one OT
on the OL...and they will have maybe one of the fastest backfields in southern ohio....the D will need to replace nearly everyone including all down lineman majority of backers..returning starters include Robertson, and Caleb Rowland....it'll be hard for them to replace those inside guys...and both corners are gone as well...

What the Tigers lose in those 21 seniors is a bunch of experience and leadership. Robertson, Rowland, Malone & Roback are key players returning but the Tigers will need allot of people to step up.

Who will the team look to replace on the D-line, O-line, and inside linbackers and basically the majority of the D...?

Waverly will have talent. What they will need is leadership and unity. We don't have to look too far back in Waverly football history to see what a team with no leadership or unity looks like. A team with talent finished 1-9 because of that. If the 2008 version bands together and develops great leadership they will be just fine.

The lineplay on both sides of the ball will determine the Tigers finish. Non league they have some tough games and the Burg as always, but Minford, West and Valley will be better this year than last. They have the skill players to win, but the big boys up front will be what makes or breaks Coach Wrights season. Good luck to them, except week 1 of course! lol

Waverly Football 2008
8-22 Piketon Away
8-29 Jackson Home
9-4 Wellston Home
912 Vinton County Away
9-19 Franklin Heights Home
9-26 Minford Away
10-3 Portsmouth West Home
10-10 Valley Away
10-17 Wheelersburg Home
10-24 Northwest Away

That is always true Eagle73 but in the end when you have a good year the line gets very little credit and if it is a bad year the line gets most of the blame. It is a tough job but linemen are there for the love of the game. Just blue collar workers, carrying a lunch pail to work hoping to get a little atta boy from the OLINE coach, when usually, they get their butts ripped! My hat is off to all those lineman that have played for me at Waverly for the past 20 years and I am pretty sure I have a group working hard to get it done again in 08!

Franklin Heights?? What do they bring to the table? I think Waverly has the talent but who will step up and fill the void that was left by last years Senior leaders. Leadership, or lack there of, makes or breaks a talented team. IE Minford 2005... Good luck Tigers except week 6.

Franklin Heights is a good game to fill a tough open date. They also play mostly Div II opponents so if they get 5 or 6 wins they are good Harbins points and better than a div III or IV opponent that is going to get 4 or 5 wins. Last year we played Pickerington North and everyone thought we were crazy but with a last second win we got a bunch of Harbin points.

Waverly how do you all think your Tigers will play against Jackson from the SEOAL this season? I see the game is played at Waverly this year? Your Tigers have had the Ironmens number the past few years right? :-D

I think you all have a really good coach down there. Good Luck this season Tigers :!:

The only thing i can say is "Surprise"--- I honestly think Waverly will be a lot better than most people think!!
I think the majority of these kids would have played last year if it wasnt for all the seniors, and I also think you have to remember the coaching staff is outstanding and has been together for a few years.

Waverly has their program going and the loss of players won't be as big as deal as some are thinking.

good post falcon flyer.. waverly is always tough, especially when they are at home, that drive up north isn't bad but not soo good either.. they have a good, well rounded program that plays 3 sides of the ball(o, d, special).. I look for them to be good, but not as great as the past couple years. Nothing against them, They had some stars the past couple years. And when you're rebuilding the o-line things can be in question. Good luck to em and hope they make the play offs.
