I really don't know. I've read that his contract was non-renewed, but what many folks don't realize is that's required by state law for supplemental contracts--but usually if the coach is coming back, a new supplemental is given within the next month. Where things went from there I really have no clue.

Well, in 32 years as a head coach, he's compiled 226 career wins (don't know for sure if that includes playoffs or not). Either way, that's still an average of 7 a year.

Look's like Mike has gone full circle. Caldwell's program will certainly benefit from his return. Good luck to the Redskins.

His time at Warren was very successful followed by some controversy and a bit of a bad split. I know from first hand experience however, that there are many, many people who have nothing but the utmost respect for him. Good Luck Coach!

What "controversy" at Warren?
I think Devol left Warren because he knew the size and talent of the athletes was on a downward gliding path, but very much on the up at South. That was his choice, but alot of us will always wonder if he could have prevented the breakdown of a program that is going on a decade of recovery.
