Sciotoville East Tartans 2008

Post by EastBeast06 »

Now that East has a new coach and is coming off of back to back titles, let's talk about what kind of weapons they are going to have this year. From what I have heard, East is going to have a very quick line.

Quick and strong line that will block for a combo of backs in Hoover, Blair, Bradford, Gray, and possibly Wright along with the QB of possibly either Rawlins, Garrett, or Hood. I think they will be able to put up some points running the ball and even throwing the ball this year. With all of that to go with a Larry Hall attacking defense East should make it three SOC titles in a row as well as a second trip to the playoffs.

I think East should have a pretty good offense but I just don't know who will step in under center. Ive seen these kids play quite a bit and no one really stands out as a great throwing QB. They should be able to run all day with all those backs and a solid line but putting the ball in the air will be interesting.
I think the defense will be the strongest part of the team with most starters coming back along with some all state players in key positions. I have heard the transfer kid from MO is a good ball player so maybe he can play QB.

I think it is a big chance that Rawlins will be under center in which in more sense because then East will be able to leave Hood at WR in which he made some big catches for them last season and it will also let put the Garrett twins at Wide out also with their speed and leaping ability

that could be true as one was the QB in junior high and seen some action this year late in games.

Will there be a big change in the style of offense with Coach Hall?

Probably more passing this year with Hall.If Davis had opened up the game with more passing lastyear in last play off game I think we would have done much better.Hoover had too big a target on his back to get much yardage

I think Hall should mix up the offense.Hood had some decent catches with the long pass.Hopefully it won't be limited to the same plays Davis did every down.

yeah I agree.
Davis only went 10 and 0 last year to East to a play off game for the first time in years, won numerous SOC titles, not to mention he was the winningest coach in East history, so dont do anything he did.

that kind of thinking from "the powers to be" is what run a good man off.

I agree. This person either had his feelings hurt because it was not about "him" or is a disgruntled parent. Take your pick. I am sure he/she kissed Darryl's butt when he was still coaching there. Attitudes like that is what is wrong with Sciotoville and why unless there are MAJOR changes, it will never be the same as it used to be. I just shake my head every time I pass through there anymore.

A question for those who know Sciotoville football. Is Coach Hall's son, Andy going to be an assistant coach for the Tartans? Thanks in advance.
