Re: Week 9 Athens at Belpre
Last home game for the seniors at Belpre.
I hope they walk off the field at Holder Stadium with a Belpre win.

Is this the first ever meeting between these two schools? I think it is, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, it is the first meeting between these 2 schools in varsity football.

Re: Week 9 Athens at Belpre
Last game at Holder Stadium for our seniors so I look for the Eagles to put it all together and bring home a victory in this one. Coaches need to open up the offense and give Ashton some room to run and throw a few 1st and 2nd down passes and defense has to do a better job of stopping the run than they did against VC and I look for a close game with the Eagles coming out on top.
Belpre - 24
Athens -21

Having seen both teams in action this season. I must go with Belpre. Athens has the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and tends to self destruct. Athens can score on Belpre, just not enough to overcome any adversity. Eagles by 10

gahs forever, two things:
1st- never said bigger means better. Just replied to the person who commented that they could be 500 in the first year.
2nd- you will soon be changing leagues for the first time since 1925. Maybe the Ohio division will let you in?

Well, no. I guess you will have a couple of choices. You could be independent, therefore not officially changing leagues. Or you and Jackson could keep the SEOAL name, and play in a two team league. I guess the latter does have it's benefits. You only have to beat one team to win the league. Kind of like it is now, cause if you beat Logan you win the league.

Re: Week 9 Athens at Belpre
Yes Athens denied wanting to leave, and now Warren does the same. Except when they are talking to the TVC schools. Warren would already be in if it were not for the other schools still holding a grudge for them leaving in the first place. Also, who said anyone wanted any part of big bad GA? But do me a favor. Win your league before you go tooting too much. Judging by the beatings you have taken from the SEOAL schools this year I might have to say Athens is maybe a little smarter they you. I am sure that if Nelsonville can keep the Ironton game as close as your Blue Devils did they will be happy. Have a nice day

Warren would be a great fit in the TVC Ohio. It would make finacial sense too! They are closer to the TVC schools.

Athens will have avoid a let down after a great performance against NY last week.
I'm rooting for the Bulldogs, but picking the Eagles in a slight upset.

no you didnt say it, but you certainly insinuated it.
athens is on the rise right now. a lot of people will say that the only reason they're winning game is because of the switch to the TVC but i've been to every home game and one road game and i can personally attest to the huge improvement of this team just by watching them play. 2-3 wins may not seem like much to brag about but athens has been in most of these games at the end had a good chance of winning which is a huge step up from the blowouts they were being handed in recent years.
as for the game i see athens coming out fired up after the heartbreaker that went down in Buchtel last week and pulling out a hard fought, close win...27-21
