vinton county
even though we lost to alex for the first time....i still saw some promise to come..coach yates made a good decision opening up the passing game..and moving their best athlete #12 around getting him looks...i know everyone's upset in vc but keep your heads up cuz this team is young and will be better next year...

Re: vinton county
your right prime time, i was surprised with how the game played out. They mixed up a few positions and tried different things. It was a nice decision on coaches part, and looks to be a promising future.
Re: vinton county
Nice post Prime!!!!Best of luck to the upcoming players next year. Also hats off to the seniors this year that choose to remain part of the team, the ones that did not give up and bail out when things got tough, the season may not have went like we all hoped but you remained and stayed faithful to your school and team.WE ARE PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!!!!

Very good post. We sometimes forget how hard it is to remain faithful and committed to your school when it is so easy nowadays to transfer.
Re: vinton county
Thanks Striker, aside from the transfer issue, one main point I was trying to make is I appreciated the boys sticking with it,like I said. Some had to choose between playing football or working to prepare for graduation, college, life, whatever.I know some quit for different reasons or left the district, some just couldn't do it anymore for family reasons, anyway thanks guys for sticking with it,and good luck Fri. night.GO VIKINGS!

Re: vinton county
yea...i know a lot of last years seniors didnt like coach yates or a lot of towns people for that matter but we forget it's his first three years as a head coach everyone's going to have growing pains..unfortunately my team was one of the few...coash is a good guy and knows a lot about the game...the last few years the teams he's had just lacked the motivation to sell out..and when you lose thats when drama happens...

The thing I am proudest of this years team is they never quit, no matter what the score was they continued to play hard until the very last second. They were young, undersized and inexperienced but their hearts are enormous and I love them for that. They have set a fine example for the following classes. Adversity is only a word not an obstacle.

Re: vinton county
Reading these posts about Vinton County would lead me to believe this is the first time in history VC has had a bad coach now come on.. we all know that is not true...
instead of people beating down a team and coach why don't you try to build it up?? Get out there and support these young men and their coach whether they are a losing team or a winning team they deserve the same support ! That is just my opinion as a alumni of VC

Re: vinton county
I don't think anyone is bashing the coach or the players on this thread.I have watched alot of these kids grow up that are on this team and win or loose I'm still proud of each and every one of them!We are there every Friday night showing our support for them, and will continue to do so in years to come.GO VIKES!
