Playoffs D2 R7 (6-4) Dublin Jerome @ (10-0) Logan

Post by Logangrad »

Logan will host Dublin Jerome in week 11 after Watterson lost to Mooney. Good Luck. I think this is the most ideal matchup for the Chiefs. I saw Scioto dismantle them with the same type of offense Logan has.

Independence might have been a better draw, but for the 3rd seed in the region I'd say we did VERY well. Much better than Desales! At least that's how it appears. DJ does have a couple of decent victories under their belts. The 6 seed with only six victories demands some respect.
I hope this isn't dejavu (SP?). I remember a Brady Quinn led Dublin team, which came to Logan with a 6-3 record in 2001 as a lower seed. They left with a 20-14 victory over us and made it to the Reg.#3 Dist. Finals if my memory is correct.
Tighten up those chin straps!
(I'd bet that scenario doesn't happen again though)

GO CHIEFS!!!

I don't think anyone in this match-up would be wise to take the other lightly.

While Jerome may be 6-4, they have some very good wins on their schedule. They have proven they can play with and beat some pretty darn good football teams.

Vice-versa, while Logan's schedule may not have the depth of Jerome's, Logan DID beat Lancaster and Pickerington North who BOTH beat Groveport, a team Jerome lost to early in the season.

I don't think the schedules can tell us much about the other. More importantly, how will the teams and coaching staffs prepare and execute.

I think this is a better matchup than Independence just from a speed standpoint. Independence beat a very good Marion Franklin team and they have been as inconsitant as Jerome but I like this matchup for Logan. Also with Watterson and DeSales playing in week 11 it gives Logan a an ideal matchup for the week 12 game if they get that far. Let these two schools beat each other up again and Watterson had DeSales on the ropes the last game so if they can pull the upset, it helps the other teams a little more. Watterson wouldnt be a slouch in Week 12 either but they will be beat up a little. Louisville could win it all and they are very good, scary good. Jerome likes to throw the ball and the mix in the run, but I think Logan has more talent headed into this week.

With what i just said i just realized Logan would play Louisville in the second rd I believe so Desales wouldnt factor in until the final. Can someone verify that? I think its 1-4 and 2-3 in the second rd?? Either way, it wont matter if they dont win in week 11 so good luck!

LG -

The Logan/Jerome winner would play the Louisville/Independence winner in the second round.

Jerome plays a much better schedule which should prepare them well for this one.

I'm still going with Logan,35-20.

Logan's opponents combined record 53-47
Jerome's opponents combined record 45-55

I'd say Logan's schedule was better.

As it has been stated before in order for you to gain alot of points in the Harbin system you have to rely on the opponents that you beat to win games to gain you points. If Logan has somewhere between 5-10th most Harbin points in the state how on earth can ANYONE say that other than the top 2 teams in our region have had a tougher schedule than we have that we'll face this year!?!?

I think this is probably one of the best matchups Logan could have hoped for in the first round. Region 7 is just loaded.

Good luck to the Chiefs!
