Best Rb's from Soc II in the past 20 years
Best Rb's from Soc II in the past 20 years
There is one about the best in Soc I, thought I would start one for Soc II
Heres some good ones from West in the past 20 years:
Jerrod Pendleton (Back of the year, at least 3000 yards career rushing)
Bart Evans (Back of the year, over 1300 yards senior year)
Aaron Hall (1000 yards Senior year on a little over 100 carries)
Austin Seevers (1200 yards Senior year)
Dale Swords (Back of the year, 1100 yards rushing)
There are plenty more I haven't mentioned from other schools, so lets hear them.

As far as West goes, how could you leave out Lens? He led them to a Finals appearence and as far as "football speed" goes was probably one of the fastest to ever come out of West. In my years of watching SOC II (since around 91) I would go with the following, keep in mind I am putting down which RB I would want to have the ball with the game on the line:
Burg - Jerrod Tilley
Minford - Eli Parkes
West - Lens or Hall (before his senior year)
Northwest - Doug Motovan
Waverly - One doesn't really stick out

This is just a tad over twenty years ago,but what about Minford's three headed monster of Hammond,Gaines and Gleim? Surely someone from Minford remembers them.

Lens honestly slipped my mind, lol. I knew I was leaving someone out, but I blundered on anyway. He also had a good teammate at fullback Justin Cantrell. Parkes may of been the best to come out from around here, and Doug Montavan was an abolsute bruiser, even though he had more success at Notre Dame in Soc I

Really? You remember Doug Montavon from Northwest but not Zack Montavon who played at Waverly at the same time? Zack rushed for better than 2,500 yards in his career and holds both the all-time rushing record at Waverly and the single game record, it was against Minford his senior year (2001). He rushed for 404 yards that night and got ripped by Coach Bolin after the game because he made several bad cuts and should have had another 100 yards that night. Coach Bolin was right and Zack knew it. By the way, he did this at 136 lbs.
He sticks out in mind, both at Waverly and in comparison to the other fine running backs in southern ohio over the last 20 years. He compares very well.

Luke Emnent from Wheelersburg in the 99 season. His average gain per carry in his senior season was 11.1 yds per carry.

Bart Evans was 1984...24 years ago.
My wrong on that one, I wasn't considering that because It was so close, I knew the date he played but didn't take into consideration to what year it was

Bruce Strickland of Northwest was one of the fastest kids I've seen in a football uniform. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to make it through an entire season when he was there. Strickland and Kenny Cooper formed a strong 1-2 punch on Northwest's best team in the last 20 years. If they both would have been able to play all year they probably would have gone 8-2 or 7-3. Instead, they ended up 5-5 after winning their first 5 games of the season.

Trent Reynolds from Minford. Over 950 yards rushing three years in a row, school record for most touchdowns in a season (22), and a first team all-state offense selection as a senior.
