Lawerence vs. Scioto
If you could combine all the schools in these two counties to make two teams, what would the match-up look like?

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
If you look at this past season's records from Scioto Co teams Vs Lawrence Co teams, Scioto County dominates.
Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
If you took all Lawrence's best players vs. Scioto's I think I would have to scioto county, but it would be closer than the experts think. Matchup wise you would probably have Size (Lawrence) vs. Speed (Scioto). Lawrence's staff would be headed by Lutz, Lucas, and Synder, and Scioto's by Triplett, Woodward, and Hall. Both teams would run right at you and try to stop you with 52 defense. Lawrence's big lineman would try to push around Scioto, but just like West, Burg, and Minford showed, quickness and keeping a low pad level is more important than size. I think Scioto would get a few quick scores and go into the half up 14-0, but Lutz and his staff would make some his famous half time adjustments, and make a ball game. All and all I think Scioto is just more talented and I would take them 21-14 or 24-14

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Come on no contest. The Lawrence county team wins easily. This is the first year Scioto has ever had a bunch of real good teams at one time. Then you get an all star team and let Coach Lutz have control along with Coach Lucas. The lawrence county team will rack up 45 minutes of ball possesion and 600 yards rushing with 1 pass thrown in for good measure.

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
i'd have to have given the edge as well, to sowdy county this year. but usually we have at least 3/4 out of the 7 lawrence county schools in the playoffs, though. i'd like to see ironton and west resume their series.
Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
for years the NFC always won the Super Bowl and had 2 or 3 better teams, but the AFC always won the Pro Bowl.

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Well I am a blatant realist and a resident of Lawrence County and Scioto County is definetly better! But I do agree that probably 10 years ago it was dead even,But Lawrence is starting to come back up now!Gotta remember how good Ironton was 10 years ago as well,That is a big factor in this! And lets face it Ironton is not what it once was IMO!

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Whatever still no contest Lawrence county over Scioto county by 14. Look at the teams you got 2 good teams in Burg and Portsmouth. The rest are decent at that. Same goes for Lawrence with only real good team being Ironton. Still Lawrence county beats Scioto county.
Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Portsmouth,and Burg...what about Portsmouth West?
with West, that makes it 3 good teams to one, to choose from
not to mention, even though EAST IS A SMALLER SCHOOL, THEY had a great team, with plenty of players that could have played for biggers schools,,,,as did some of the other schools down here, like VALLEY,...N.D....
not even close...thats just my opinion though.
and I am sure, the surounding schools in lawrence had kids that could have played at bigger schools also.

West they have one good year and you guys want to call them great. They have a good team every 5 or 6 years they arent as let them do it consistantly like Burg or Portsmouth then they can be put in that class. Our little schools have had some good players that could have played at bigger schools Symmes Valley and Green. No contest Lawrence county wins over Scioto county.

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Green is located in Scioto County? I look at this as Lawrence County being the Big Ten and Scioto County being the SEC and we all know how that goes...

Re: Lawerence vs. Scioto
Well, if we were going for intelligence it doesn't look good for Lawrence County since you cannot even spell your county name correct. LOL
There is no comparison between Scioto and Lawrence County football. Year in and year out the Scioto County teams are superior. It was even worse this year considering how weak the OVC was. The top 4 teams in the SOC II could have won the OVC. From scrimmages to regular season games the Lawrence County teams do not match up well against their neighbors to the west.
