There's an advantage to living in C-bus during h.s. football season, especially during the playoffs. I can go watch Jackson-J.Alder (48 miles), Valley-Crestview (15 miles) or West-Wynford (3 miles) on friday night and Ironton-J. Monroe (8 miles) or Symmes-Beallsville (65 miles) without breaking the bank with travel & money or time.

Hopefully West and Valley will both advance and we can have another high school game in Scioto county this year. Portsmouth would be a great site for this game if it happens

Portsmouth doesn't have the parking for a game of that magnitude. I'd say Jackson, unless they are still playing.

Burg Grad, OHSAA doesn't even care if there is enough SEATING for their game assignments, so I doubt they give a crap about parking availability.

I'd like to see that also (that'd be a nice drive for me friday to get out of town early) but my gut & head tells me that Valley got a little better draw than West but that's why they play the games on the field. You never know what will happen.

I hear what you're saying, but it is a part of the questionaire for sites that want to host games.

I think it would be at Jackson also.

There's plenty of parking around Portsmouth's stadium. There's the school lots, library lot, 2 church lots, and a ton of street parking, all on flat ground :)

Ok, I have heard the parking issue used before too as a reason why we don’t host games. I don’t get it though. How many spots are there in the school lot? Then there is also the 2 churches, possible street parking, and at worst case scenario SSU’s parking lot only 3 blocks away. I know when at Jackson it seems like we’re always parked in the grass, personally I prefer the parking at Portsmouth to the that.

Do we claim the church parking on the questioner or just the school I wonder.

Is Portsmouth turf? If it is, it would be perfect, if not then I see them traveling north to Jackson if they are not playing, or somewhere like Waverly if the game is played.

if some of you have never been there or seen it, here is a link that has some pics from the PHS West game from a few years back that shows the facility.
