He better hope Coal Grove doesn't sneak any judges in or he'll get shanked!

I appreciate that... Alex Glide broke all the national records in 2004 with a 380.25 bench, a 551 pound squat, and a 540 pound deadlift. (in my respective weight class)

Congrats
What are his numbers? Is that weight class true? How big is this boy? That is a big sophmore if he is already in the 275 class

If he weighs 275 pounds, those national records aren't REALLY impressive. That bench press is pretty good, but other than that, I know that there are always people at the Ohio state meet that are at those marks that are in the 225 or 250 weight class. Not taking anything away from the kid or anything, just saying... maybe Ohio is just THAT good.

It's a sophomore division. If a 551 pound squat and a 540 pound deadlift doesn't meet what is "impressive" for a sophomore then what is?????

Re: Sophomore competing in the national powerlifting meet!
Plus... In Ohio the state meet is everyone vs. everyone. No sophomore division, freshman get to lift against seniors. I placed 3rd in the state as a freshman in the 250 class. (It was an extremely weak class but I was happy.) But I got beat by two seniors... When I called the meet director in Oklahoma he was stunned when I told him that freshman lift against seniors here in ohio. Also, the guys who hold the state records in my weight class at state weighed over 300 pounds... but in the nationals, the unl class starts after 308. So I wouldn't lift against those guys anyway. The senior records in my class for the nationals are: b=479 dl=710 sq=749. Now those are guys that weigh 243-275. The state record in the unl for squat is 800. But he weighed much more than the guys who set the national records.
