SOC I
Alright, with conference play almost here, what are your expectations? It looks like Symmes is a frontrunner, but ND and East are making some noise. Is East the real deal? The last time I saw them play, they really didn't impress me. ND is a hard read too. On one hand they lost a close game to Northwest, but they beat undefeated FCA. I also find it hard to believe that Oak Hill is as down as they are this year. Will they get a win? What games are you most excited to see? Thoughts?
Re: SOC I
1. Symmes valley 4-0. a very physical team.
2. East 3-1 should be a great game between them and nd
3. Nd 2-2 has speed but think east just has a more physical team
4 green 1-3 going through a down period
5. Oak hill 0-4 lost a whole lot of very talented player

You don't know what you are watching if you think ND is better than East or SV. Not even close. I have seen all three as well.GO Blue 54 wrote:I have seen East SV and ND play this yr...ND is the best out of all three schools...IF sv dont get pressure on mader it will be a long night for them.....but anything could happen ...good luck to all the schools ....

Re: SOC I
What does East have this year that they didn't last year that would make them be that far ahead of ND? I'm really intrigued by East's and ND's turnarounds. Granted, ND does have an easier non-conference schedule this year, but I am very impressed by their recovery after losing what, like 9 seniors?
Re: SOC I
SV will be 9-1. I know you've got high hopes that your Rebel's will beat them. I just don't see it happening though. Hate to break your heart.Runnin rebels wrote:So far there actual records are...
Symmes valley 4-1
Nd 4-1
East 4-1
Green 3-2
Oak hill 0-5
And to clarify My final prediction is
Symmes valley 8-2 4-0
East 8-2 3-1
Nd 7-3 2-2
Green 4-6 1-3
Oak hill 0-10 0-4

Re: SOC I
I see Symmes Valley as the favorite going into league play. I like the fact that Notre Dame can run it and throw it offensively. That type of balance could be huge against East and SV. I'm torn between East and ND. I believe that in any order, those three will be at the top of the final league standings and in a perfect world, all three will make the playoffs. Good luck to all five schools in the SOC I on a safe and competitive league season.
Re: SOC I
Who has ND played other than Northwest which they lost? I believe the East vs SV game will really tell the tale. If you think that Crager is the only fast player that East has then you are sadly mistaken. They also have a big O line that blocks well and is very experienced. I honestly don't know who is better right now, but if East does beat SV, then I'll guarantee a victory over ND!!

In my opinion (which coupled with enough points on your speedy rewards card can get you a free coffee lol), I believe ND's win at Newcomerstown was a solid victory...if for no other reason than the extensive travel and facing an opponent that is a larger school which plays solid competition every year and is coming off back-to-back .500 seasons. By no means is it a world-beater win, but a solid win none-the-less. I also believe that the Fairfield Christian Academy win should be considered a decent win. Let's be honest, East's schedule to this point hasn't exactly been stellar. The Tartans are definitely a legitimate SOC I and playoff contender, but I still believe there is a lot to be proven by all three (East, ND and SV). I'm looking forward (as an outsider) to a competitive league race. Good luck to all.OSU_Nut wrote:Who has ND played other than Northwest which they lost? photo guy -- I just say that stuff to irritate my beloved fans from sciotioville..... they hate us so much i just have to return the love on occasion....lol MD
I agree about the race that appears to be a 3 way race right now...earlier , before the start of the year, it looked like a 1 horse race with SV out front. But now it looks more even. ND's win over FCA was a very good win , playoff team from last year that was already 4-0 this year ..thats pretty solid as was newcomerville.
East caught Raceland at the perfect time, Raceland had just played a nearly perfect game in a very very emotional contest the week before east in which they pummeled Greenup. That week the starting QB's dad passed away from a sudden heart attack. So drilling GC was huge for them. And IMO they didn't come to East ready to play and East embarrassed them. They week before east and the week after they gave up 12 and 14 points total (the 12 was accually in mop up time or it would have been zero) so their D is not bad. They got caught at the right time. going to be fun the rest of the way out. good to see a competitive SOC1 MD
