Could a 10-0 Nelsonville-York miss the playoffs??

Post by indianabuck »

Looking at the other schools remaoning schedules, and secondary point for all the school, it looks like there could be a couple ways it could happen.

Since they added 8 play-off teams to each region, has a team ever gone 10-0 and not made the Play-offs?

Looking over your region I see no way you will miss the play-offs by going 10-0... Stilla lot of tough games for the teams ahead of ya.. Plus you play Alexander & Athens the last 2 games of the season and victories over these 2 schools should provide Mega points....

In a word, NO. There is little chance that it would happen.

I think yes. Newcomerstown in 2001. Also, for what it's worth, there have been at least 20 teams miss the playoffs with only 1 loss.

Athens
Alexander
Meigs
Wellston
Logan

It's only week 4, you will face teams that are going to help considerably....had you already beaten Athens or Alexander you wouldn't have asked this question.

No! with Meigs and likely Alexander being ranked at some point i don't think that is even close to possible.

I think Athens could be a bump in the road ?? Meigs more so than Alex 80 points don't impress me against frontier. We find more out about Alex next 3weeks, i suspect an imposter.0

It would be a shame if that were to happen. I think NY will go 9-1 and be about a 5seed in the playoffs.

Yes, NY beat Athens in week 10 that year to make Athens 9-1 in D2 R7. They just moved to D3 this season.

That year Athens lost enrollment and was bumped from Division 3 to Division 2 by the state as they redrew lines and numbers to keep the region balanced (it was just bad timing)
