Monroe Central vs Columbiana predictions

Post by CN2 »

I'll take the Noles 35-13. MC offense will be to much.

Hopefully conditioning won't be an issue like last year.

Not sure how the lines are gelling either. My opinion is Kinchen will be too much to regardless how well the line is playing together. Noles 33-22.

Hard to key on Kinchen when you have all the talent around him.

You'd think Monroe Central would be good enough to score 6 times, but I'll go on record as saying it's a 28-20 win for MC.

I only know what I read about their preview. They graduated a lot of seniors including most of their WR's. They do have their QB back who is an athlete that can make things happen with his feet. Their numbers are way down compared to usual. All in all I got that they were probably not as good this year as they were last, and I think MC will be better this year than last which is why I am taking MC. Personally I think MC could open this game up, but MC is notoriously a slow week 1 starter in the past. I am expecting growing pains in the trenches for the first week at least. Also, Columbiana has a solid program irregardless of what they have coming back. That is why I am thinking Columbiana hangs around, but MC's talent at the skill positions will be enough.

I saw Columbiana in a recent scrimmage while scouting another team and I have to say I was very, very impressed with Columbiana. They were the best team that I have seen during the 2 weeks of scrimmages and I have seen some good teams. They are a typical Columbiana team: big, strong, physical and fast. There quarterback is a stud and there fullback is a brusier. They are a team that will throw mulitple formations at you. If one doesn't work they will go to the next until they find that hole in your defense. The key to beating Columbiana for anyone is stoping the veer. They love running the veer. It is there bread and butter. As for Monroe Central, I really don't know much about them. I know Monroe Central is a very solid program thats good year in and year out and I expect this to be one of the most exciting week 1 games around.

Good info. Sounds like it should be a good game

Yeah I read that. Colleges should understand that without high school football their little cartel wouldn't exist.

But I get it. It's a licensed trademark, and MC is stealing millions from FSU. Just put a Times Roman 'MC' on the helmet, but I'm sure that won't be allowed either.

The story:

The two logos:

Woodsfield went through this years ago when they were the Redskins (not politically correct). Now I'm not one to stereotype, but the image that Monroe Central uses looks as if it has teeth or at least a tooth. Where as the image from the southern team (FSU) has no teeth/tooth. Also, the MC and Seminoles written in the feather. Completely different images. Next time I see the artist of the MC image I'll ask her.
I know I'm digging myself a big hole for when I return back home.

Columbiana 13

MC 7 Final

Don't know what happened. Be interesting to hear how MC only managed 7 points.

Oh, the Vanilla Ice defense. The "artist" copied someone else's logo and added a couple words. I've never understood why a school would not want a unique representation of their mascot. Besides being lazy, think of all the untapped talent within the school and the pride that would come from actually, you know, designing your own logo.

Also, the other logo that you displayed isn't FSU's logo. It is a semi-pro team in Detroit who is also being asked to stop ripping off someone else's art.

Didn't know much about Columbiana, but I figured MC would be able to muster more than 7 points. Kind of a shocker to me.

MC played bad all the way around......o line was bad,wr's/rb's a lot of drops....some played scared like they didn't want 2 get hit. Columbiaana qb great ball skills got out of a lot pressure that no one else does on MC schedule....vey quick....carried team. MC still had chance at end of game but 2 many drops....td dropped.

MC is not who we thought they were. I see 3 maybe 4 losses now.... Shadyside and Barnesville and Shenandoah if the Zeps step up.

Kinchen bulked up. He's a beast at LB but completely ineffective at QB for the style of offense Circosta wants to run. He was a suspect passer to begin with and that hasn't changed and now being bulked up he lost in the speed department and he wasn't all that fast to begin with. Couple that with a small line unwilling to fire off the ball and a couple young skill players not ready for primetime and you have the makings of an average team. Not trying to hate; just what I see.

I love Levi Brown though. 5'4"/135lb freshman. That kid has guts and plays with heart. I want to see him in the backfield. He'll get picked on at cornerback and probably will give up a few big plays, but he's the only one that didn't seem intimidated.

Kinchen is fun 2 watch @ lb. He seems like he doesn't know when 2 throw or run so he's never really going full speed like he did when he played tb bc he's a down hill runner. Last drive he put the ball where it needed 2 b......what 5 dropped balls on last drive.... 1 wld have scored. Agree w/ Brown...it will be interesting 2 c how he grows. 5'4 with size 13 shoe and can almost dunk a basketball.
