Region 27

Post by EasternDspy »

I actually agree with Pastuer on most teams finish.
1. Waterford 9-1
2. Trimble 8-2
3. Southern 8-2
4. East 9-1
5. Shadyside 7-3
6. Harvest Prep 7-3
7. Danville 6-4
8. Rosecrans 7-3

If East and Shadyside were to hold in the 4/5 spots, that probably has to be one of the worst drives in Region 27/old r25/old r23 history.

Shadyside to East is 4 hours. Be a huge advantage who gets the 4 seed. I'd love to see Trimble vs Waterford week 13 in Athens

If they finished this way I'd take all four road teams

That is comparable to when south gallia made it in 2011. We had to travel to buckeye central, I believe it is 25-30 miles south of Sandusky

Waterford is the best team in the region. Danville is really young and probably shouldn't be a playoff team.

If #8 Notre Dame goes 7-3 they are in... imo, if they win out they are a lock and possibly home field.

Depends on who the 3rd loss is to. If they lose to East I don't think so. If it's Fayetteville (which means they beat East) then maybe. Could possibly lose both, or win both. Don't look past Northwest. No way they move all the way up to 4 even if they win out.

If everyone wins out in the top 5 but southern,Waterford 1,Portsmouth east 2,shadyside 3,Trimble 4.and rematch with southern at 5,The 3 tvc teams divisor goes to 99 week 9 or 10.So its still possible that 3 teams from the tvc can host even with a southern lose to Waterford. If east and shadyside both drop a game it will almost be for sure.I think shadyside drops one.East not sure about playing oak hill or ND.neither one are easy games.

Danville is pretty young and had to replace 17 Seniors from last year's monster team. They are going through a learning curve and some growing pains this year for sure. However, I've seen A LOT of playoff football, especially in this Region over the years. IMO Danville, at this point, is playing to the caliber of a very average D7 playoff team. If Danville is fortunate enough to get into the top 8 it will be deserved and whoever they face will have their hands full.

I look for Harvest Prep to make some noise. They had 3 tough games to start the season (including a 1 score shoot out vs Rosecrans), but have won 4 straight, and will probably win their final 3. They were a pretty good young playoff team last year... So HP and Rosecrans should teams to watch for in R27.

I still believe East is the team to beat in this region. If they play the way they could play nobody in this region will beat them. I have seen both Waterford and Southern play and i still remain thinking that East is the more talented team.

How does harvest prep get in at 6-4, doesnt seem like they can jump the teams ahead of them that end up 6-4 also? Seems like notre dame looks to be in the same boat, what am i missing?

If ND does not win 2 out of their last 3 games they will not in. I think they need to be Fayetteville to for sure get in at 7-3. Whoever wins between FCA and Harvest Prep will be #8 if ND does not win out or win 2/3 . I think FCA or Prep will jump Bishop Rosecrans. The teams Bishop play will not provide much points. The biggest game will be Prep vs FCA, all this depends on ND situation.

The projections I've seen have Harvest Prep winning out to finish 7-3. They have to beat Fairfield Christian to get in. Numbers-wise, they could afford an upset loss in one of the other two games as long as they beat FC. If they finish 6-4 with a loss to FC, they're almost assuredly out.

Rosecrans will almost certainly end up behind the HP-FC winner. Also, if any of the following teams pulls one upset, Rosecrans could win out and still be done - Buckeye Trail (River), Shenandoah (Fort Frye), Reedsville Eastern (Trimble or Southern), Notre Dame (Fayetteville or Sciotoville), Beaver Eastern (wins out).

Rosecrans benefits from that Harvest Prep win.
