Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
Warren will be TOUGH this year. New off/def strategies for Belpre may hinder them some, BUT, if they make it through Warren without injury, they will be very tough come mid season due to the players mentioned above.

Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
I doubt it will be anything like last year’s game, Belpre was missing a lot of key players when the season started. However Warren is returning a huge O-line with a lot of senior leadership and has probably the most balanced offence I have seen in awhile. If the 7 on 7’s are any indication to the season Warren should have a nice passing and running game this year. I say Warren wins by 2 or more scores. Still this is the Belpre/Warren game and it could end up being a much closer game. Both teams want it but I just think Warren’s size will prevail in the end. Good luck to both teams and Go Warriors!

Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
I've heard Belpre should be better than last year but with all due respect that isn't saying much, I look for Warren to roll in this one also.
Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
Belpre will be much improved this year...however I think Warren will be their toughest opponent this coming season.

TVC Trivia..............I think I am right on this anyways........
This will be the first ever game featuring a team in the TVC Hocking playing a team in the SEOAL.
Anyone know if any other TVC Hocking team has ever played a SEOAL team?

When was the last time a TVC-Ohio team beat an Seoal foe that wasnt named Athens?
Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
Belpre beat Warren in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Warren has won the past 4 years vs Belpre.

Warren should be able to win by a lot. But does anyone know the record ever since Warren and Belpre has started playing?

Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
talk to Jim Rhodes or swamisez...they're pretty good with Warrior history.
I just looked through the season by season that i have...at first I had the Warriors leading 24-23-1, but I recounted and the series actually appears tied at 24 games apiece, with a tie in 1979.
By decade:
1960s: Warren 3; Belpre 6 (there was no 1960 game...Warren played mostly reserve teams their first season)
1970s: Warren 3; Belpre 6, Tie 1 (1979 ended in a 0-0 tie)
1980s: Warren 7; Belpre 3 (Warren wins 7-0 in OT in 1985 in their final TVC game to capture the league title)
1990s: Warren 5; Belpre 5 (Belpre won the first 4 of the 90s then Warren won 5 of the next 6 during the Mike DeVol era)
2000s: Warren 6; Belpre 4 (Warren won '00 and '01 under DeVol and Welsh, Belpre won from '02-'05, and Warren has won from '06 through the '09 season under former Belpre coach Jon Bolen and then Jim Pifer)
The 2010 game will be the fiftieth played in the series, 1961 to 2010.

Logan played Miller in like 1982.NYBuckeye96 wrote:TVC Trivia..............I think I am right on this anyways........

It was the period where a lot of SEOAL schools were leaving for the TVC and Logan played a lot of different schools in the non-league, mainly due to league changes late in the season. LHS also played Beechcroft and Dayton Dunbar during those years.
Logan beat the Falcons 27-0.
Re: WK 1 Belpre Eagle at Warren Warriors
Miller joined the TVC in 1983. The conference didnt split into divisions until the early 90s. So technically even if Miller were in the TVC that year, it was just the TVC...no Hocking.

WHSwarrior, Swami, Mister B and others . . .
Is it true that this is the 50th consecutive game to be played between Belpre and Warren?
Is the series tied at 24 wins with a tie game in 1979?
Are these "by decade stats" accurate?

I want to make sure this is correct. If so, I'll make sure to announce it on Friday.
Thanks for the help.

I know this was during the TVC years with no split divisions. I can still remember some of the stories from these games.
