Week 2: Logan (0-1) @ Pickerington North (0-1)

Post by loganlocos »

Chieftains travel up 33 to take on a surging Panthers program. A lot of people by now have heard about the North offensive line, but they have some nice skill kids to go along.

Both teams lost tough games last week, Logan to Lancaster and North to Cardinal Mooney, and need wins to keep playoff hopes alive (I know its early, but that's a reality).

North has only beaten Logan once in 7 tries and Logan is the only team to play Pick North in all 7 seasons they have been in existence.

Logan won last season 24-21. They took a 21-0 lead into the locker room, watched North storm back to tie it at 21, and then kicked a field goal late for the win.

What does everyone have to say about this one?

If they can get the tackling monkey off their back and wrap up up i say the cheifs in a close one, if not north will win this one. I hate to say that beacuse im a true cheifs fan but what i seen friday with the tackling worries me.

Another stiff test for the Chieftains.. Pick North gave them all they could handle last year...
But you never know, Logan has always been a good team on the road, and with continued
improvement, they might surprise them... Win or lose, this Logan team will be ready for the
rest of their schedule...

I think the Panther line will be too much for Logan's smallish defense. Panthers easily.

Most of the talk about North's line is hype. I can almost assure you that the Panthers line will not be as good as Lancaster's.

North is huge up front. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney beat them last week and they can play with anyone in the state (even though we all know about the classifications which are a joke). P. North 28 Logan 17

North averages 256 lbs on the o-line. Lancaster averages 264 lbs. Norths line is not that huge. A huge Line is what Lancaster had in 2005 when 4 of the 5 starting lineman weighed 300+ pounds.

Norths passing game is what scares me,they have two huge recievers and in the reserve game last year their QB could wing it and run, and they always have a big physical line but I actually think Logan can keep it close, I'm going with North in 28-21, home field will help.

i dont know anything about either team i was reading just for fun and i could make a line with people that weighs 220 or even less. weight isnt everything quickness and whitts plays a way bigger factor than weight

Logan MUST cut down on the penalties and do a better job of wrapping up while tackling if they want to avoid an 0-2 start. Those two things killed them against Lancaster.

The crappy tackling is due to poor tackle drills. In Lancaster your taught to destroy the ball carrier...In Logan, your taught "its okay if your a wittle guy.....just...cut his legs, no sense in even trying to tackle him right" thats what you saw Friday night. Its the truth. Our tackling only improves when the coaches lose the mindset of KNOWING Lancaster is going to go in there and man handle us. How about we field a team that is equally strong as them? No......... we'll just every single year, every single one, flop the D-line on the ground so they minimum 5 yards a carry AND teach us to NOT go to the weightroom but wrather just.....be quicker and faster than them. Every 10 years or so we'll have a player good enough to beat them 2 out of 3 years....... :?

Logan CAN beat P-North. Doing it the old fashion way like in 00 and in 01. Not paying attention to hype, going out there and knowing what YOU can do and getting the DUB.
