region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
according to www.joeeitel.com here is the top 8, with top 4 having home games.
1-columbus bishop hartley 3-0(an ironton opponent)
2-heath-3-0
3-west portsmouth-3-0
4 ironton-3-0
5-johnstown monroe-2-1
6-amanda clearcreek-2-1
7- chillicothe unioto 2-1
8-pomeroy meigs 2-1
so right now it would be
bishop hartley at home against meigs
heath at home vs. chilli unioto
west portsmouth hosting amanda clearcreek
and ironton hosting johnstown monroe.

Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
This is a huge week for the top of the region with even matchups. Hartley traves to play Elyria Catholic, Ironton hosts Ashland and Heath hosts Licking Valley.
Plus Plesant travels to Highland. The winner of that game will end the season 8-2 and will definitley qualify for one of the last spots in the region.
The question for Ironton fans is, can the Tigers make it at 7-3? I have been on record that Ironton will lose to Ashland, Alder and Hartley. All three of those teams are better than Ironton this season.

Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
the teams ironton has beaten so far have a combined win -loss total of 2-8. not much we can do about that.
ironton's remaining schedule coming into week 4 , are a combined 17-5.
with the next opponent being undefeated and 4-0. ashland tomcats.
so if ironton can grind through the rest of their meaty schedule. i'd look for big things out of them.
and an almost certain date with the portsmouth west siders.

lets wait until they play the games first there. ahm.
Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
Ironton will beat Ashland and gain a ton of points and I believe they will beat Hartley.
Alder I'm up in the air on yet but I think Ironton can go 9-1 or 10-0 just as easy as 7-3
Lets go Tigers start that ROAR

Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
My guess would be that if indeed Ironton loses to Ashland, Alder, and Hartley they won't make the playoffs; and furthermore don't belong in the playoffs. In round 2 and 3 Ironton would face teams at least as good as those 3 (and maybe even in round 1).
However, I think Ironton losing to all three is highly unlikely.

Mee too^^^ From an outsider standpoint, last year Ironton was 2 -3 scores better than Hartley, much more physical, bigger, stronger, and more disciplined. This is a different year but speaking in terms of last year it would have been no contest.

I love to see Ironton, West, and Portsmouth all make it.
Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
Just sayin....you might want to re-think your opinion of Ironton after the beating they put on a good Ashland team. Ashland would be a DII in Ohio.AHM wrote:This is a huge week for the top of the region with even matchups. Re: region 15 div. 4, if playoffs started today.
I think every team remaining on Ironton's schedule, with the probable exception of Fairbanks, has a very real chance of beating the Fighting Tigers. And I think Coach Lutz and the staff will certainly be operating under this assumption.
On the other hand, I think Ironton has the potential to go 10-0.
