Week 8: TVC Ohio Athens (4-3, 2-0) @ Alexander (6-1, 2-0)
Well this is the first of three consecutive weeks featuring a huge Athens Co. game with the TVC title in the balance.

Re: TVC Ohio Athens (4-3, 2-0) @ Alexander (5-1, 2-0)
Is Alexander the favorite in this one? Athens won a last years contest with little resistance from Alex but Sparty is playing pretty good ball and getting healthier by the minute as Athens comes into this game more banged up than we have been in a couple of years. This may be a coin flip game at this point.

trivalleyconference.com WILL BE UPDATED SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH ALL THE TVC-OHIO STATS - AND AN EMPHASIS PUT ON THIS GAME BETWEEN ALEXANDER & ATHENS.
------------------------------------
Given the fact that this big game between two county rivals has yet to produce a "trophy", "nickname" or "slogan" ... I've decided to come up with one on my own ... Since the Hocking River divides the two schools (much like the Red River does Texas & Oklahoma) ... The Athens/Alexander yearly match-up needs to be labeled ...
"THE HOCKING RIVER RIVALRY!"

this should be a great high school game to see

I guess it just depends on which Athens shows up: the one that beat Chilly or the one that barely escaped lowly Meigs with a shootout win....

I'm going to go with Athens but this one could easily go either way. Dogs put together a late drive and win by 2.
This should be one heck of a game!!

Is Harris going to be out for this game? I understand Skinner stepped in and did a nice job, but Harris was always a threat last year. I'll take the 'Dogs, but it'll be one whale of a game
Re: Week 8: TVC Ohio Athens (4-3, 2-0) @ Alexander (6-1, 2-0
Skinner did a great job and will be ready if called upon, but the Dogs are better overall with Harris because of his experience and Skinner's value on the defensive side of the ball in whatever position they need him for for the week.

This should be a dandy I'll make a prediction later on this one

Game is at Alex, and on grass. I'm going with the Spartans in this one, especially with everyone healthy.

Wow, still alot of doubters out there for Alexander. I really thought Alexander would be looked at as the favorite coming into this one, I know would consider them as one at this point.

A-Town Big Dog - Folks maybe looking at 'strength of schedule' as being a determining factor in choosing a possible winner ... Athens has definitly played a tougher 7-week schedule than the Spartans ... OR ... That Vinton County comparison is skewing peoples thought process.
The problem is: NONE OF THAT MATTERS ... Alexander was able to knock Nelsonville-York off its perch last season 21-0 at home ... I have a feeling this game Friday is gonna be one heck of a battle with turnovers and big plays being the difference in the contest.
BTW ...
IVE COMPLETED A WRITE-UP/ARTICLE/GAME BREAKDOWN ON trivalleyconference.com ... I will probably add some stuff later ... but here is the link:

I fully understand that thought process 93 but alot of that same process was used to compare Alex and Wellston last week and we see now how that worked out.93Bulldog wrote:A-Town Big Dog - Folks maybe looking at 'strength of schedule' as being a determining factor in choosing a possible winner ...
