Ironton Vs Portsmouth - The Great Subway Bowl Week Is Here!
Wow, here is it..at stake? Ironton, for the first time in 108 years could even up the series if they can defeat Portsmouth this week. I hope that the Tiger's, after seeing that Portsmouth even got beaten by Logan, aren't overlooking the Trojans cause..one thing you can always count on is that Portsmouth will give 147% against the Tigers, no matter what

Would anyone else besides me think it would be cool if Ironton vs. Portsmouth and West vs. Wheelersburg could be played on a Saturday Grid o Rama type situation where these teams played back to back to finish the season. I understand the logistics of it would have to be worked out, but to me the two best rivalries in Southern Ohio on the same field, on the same day.. All those amazing fans in one place at one time. That would be special. I know there will be some people that post why this can never happen, and they are probably right. But, it would be pretty cool.

i can't wait to watch a football game in portsmouth's new digs. i've seen it with biggdowgg, but have yet to see a game there yet. i hope we give a better effort than last night. fairbanks was a very game opponent. but they whipped us when they passed. and as usual there were 22 men inside about an 8 yard window, and we ran up the middle all night. we kept a good team in the game by playing it so conservative. and it nearly bit us. this week, THE SPREAD OFFENSE

Im not sure if Dowg is going to post it, but KYII was down here last week guarrenteing an Tiger victory. He even tried to get dowg to pay up his Subway in advance. Dowg told him to let the game be played first.

Portsmouth has been allowing 31 PPG on defense.........and only 3 times all year have we held the opposition to under 31 points.......we have averaged 29 PPG vs. Ironton in the last 5 games and have averaged a very respectable 22 PPG on offense this season.........I think our kids will give it everything they have, but I just don't think we have the defense to get it done.........BUT STILL.........
GO TROJANS!!!

Jackson and Wellston do it every year. It is not only a big money maker, but a great rivalry. People come from all the other leagues and most of Jackson County shows up. Jackson and Wellston really look forward to this game every year.FIDO wrote:I think the local school district's are absolutely ignorant for not picking a "county" game of the week and play it on a Sat....Give each team/school/district a chance to host. I believe the revenue generated would be well worth the "HASSEL" of playing on Saturday. Other schools do it and often times play in front of standing room only crowds.

One more thing you don't want to overlook when talking about how hard of a game this could be for the Tigers is the officiating! It's bad for them Tigers!

Had one been there 4 years ago, they wouldn't need to ask
Ozzie, you're bad!
