TO THE ALEXANDER SPARTANS
TO THE ALEXANDER SPARTANS
Congratulations on a GREAT winning season! Here are a few things that YOU did as a TEAM this year.
First time back-to-back playoff berth.
First back-to-back winning seasons since 1977.
First time beating Meigs in TVC Ohio.
First time beating Athens in TVC Ohio.
Extended home winning streak to two seasons (11 games).
You overcame losing some great seniors from last year. You worked hard in the off season. You overcame some injuries to key players during the season.
Maybe some of you don't remember when Alexander was considered an automatic win for the opponent, or what it was like to not win a single TVC game during the entire season.
You will always have people who criticize you, your play, your coaches, and your program. But THANK YOU from an army of us for making Alexander football great. You are making a winning tradition which you can always be proud of.
Good luck in the playoffs! No one will pick you to win, but whether you play Ironton or Heath, play a great game. We're behind you all the way.

Good post Leroy great season spartans you are really turning your football program around. I remember my freshman playing down there when the coaches were giving all the players their tvc champs shirts before the game was even over, and now you have had two straight winning seasons and two straight playoff games and multiple league wins. Hardly anyone will give you a chance against Ironton but good luck i hope you win it represent the tvc and athens county well.

Great post, LEROY. You have a way of saying things poigniantly, and economically. Patty and Mary Jane would be proud, with the exception of ending one sentence with a preposition in your post..... And yes, I do it as well on occassion.... :122245LEROY wrote:Congratulations on a GREAT winning season! Here are a few things that YOU did as a TEAM this year.

Best of luck to the Spartans. Two years in a row you get an invitation to the dance. Remember, there are only 32 teams per division that get the invitation, so enjoy it!

Re: TO THE ALEXANDER SPARTANS
Sure do. Eitel has it COMPLETE. Of course unofficial, but looks like Coshocton travels to Ironton.

I'm not too familier with the Spartans. As a Heath fan what can I look for if this contest holds ? Are the Spartans a big team ? Heath is not a very big team but they have speed at all positions on offense and defense.

It's great to see people from other schools supporting the teams they play or don't play anymore. My respect goes out to those people.
Spartans you have had a good season and you get to play at least one more game. But now you have to play every game like it's your last. Because week 12 isn't a promise. With that being said you have once again made your school, your community, your fans, your alumni and everyone around you proud. Keep up the good work. And as always
