I mean I move on either way :122249 but as long as i've picked I always thought it was accumulative throughout the whole playoffs. I picked as if I had a 2 game lead on the guy to move on not have to restart over again. I went with a LOT more "upsets" or so called with my picks and I would be 1 game back instead of 2, but if that's the case then the top 4 move on next week then right? Starts back over next week? Just making sure this time then  Thanks again sprinter for your work all year!

I'm no longer in the contest, but I think I understand where the confusion is coming from. Last year, and every year in the past I believe, the playoffs have been cumulative, just like the regular season. The field has been cut in half each week, but there wasn't a "reset" after each week. Sprinter14 is doing things a little differently this year as each week of the playoffs counts on its own. If you advance one week, your record goes back to 0-0, and you have to advance again the next week. There is no carry over or cumulative total this year. At least that's how it looks to me.

Yes Ironman, you are correct. In the contests I have played in the past, this is how we did our playoffs. Personally, I feel like this is a true "playoff" format. Like I said, I am trying to make this closer to the real thing, like with the "home field advantage" in the first round.

What do you all prefer? If I run the contest again next year, I am open to suggestions.

I too thought it was cumulative and picked to stay up towards the top of the pack, not for the week because I thought was how it was being done, just like we have in the past. In the past if it was done on a week by week basis we always went head to head with a seeding in the first round and the higher seed left after round 1 went up against the lower seed in each round. But that's alright, I'm out and good luck to those left in.

I like this playoff format. You did it the right way. The rules were plain as day if anyone really read them. This captures the spirit of the playoffs. Having to try to pick upsets to catch up in an elimination format would be dumb. However, my only recommendation for next year is that we have the seeding format like burggrad just mentioned. That would give it even more playoff feel.
Keep up the good work sprinter. You've done a good job all year.

Thanks for all your hard work this season. I too love the playoff format, and thought it was clear. I agree seeding would be great but don't know how you could do it, with not exactally 32 people getting in do to ties. I guess you could set up a tie breaker, so if multiple people are tied for the last spot you only get 32, but that would suck to miss the cut because you blew a point spread.

Again great job running this, and best of luck to all thoes who are still in the hunt.

Wow 800 post for me. I spend to much time on here

I definitely think the "playoff" format is the way to go too.

Keep up the good work, Sprinter14.

Thanks guys! I have tried hard to make it fun for everyone. I have really had a good time doing it. I fine tuned the grading process and it got better as people dropped out and I got quicker at grading them. The first few weeks with 170 plus people was a nightmare, but I made it.

Keep coming with anymore suggestions. If the SEOP owners and mods are happy with what I've done, I will plan on doing it again next year.

I've also really enjoyed meeting some of the people on here during the season. It has given me a new perspective of other fans, teams, stadiums, etc. I will be at the Ironton and Oak Hill playoff games this weekend pulling for our boys. If anyone wants to look me up, just PM me!!

Interesting notes about the pickem contest

The three cash prize winners from the regular season have been eliminated already - and by the way, checks went out today to Karma and One Oak - still waiting on Yabba's address.

The $50 grand prize to the overall winner and 3 remaining prizes (courtesy of Hoggy) will go to 4 different people. That means we spread the wealth pretty well with 7 different people getting prizes.

Now, for the remaining contestants going into week #3 - regional finals - just for fun - if you all were seeded like the teams are done, here is what we would have left:

All number one seeds would be out

#2 seeds remaining: Bballin Fool, Fuzzhead, and CMo

#3 seed: Im All In

#4 seeds: SVVikinglineX2, Underdog2006, and bdog198807

#5 seed: NYBuckeye96

#7 seed: Lineman7

All the #8 seeds who tied for 31st spot in the regular season, all went out in the first round!

I think I even beat you. :122245 It was a lot of fun. I lost in the first round of the play-offs, but was happy to get that far against all the good ole boys. Thanks sprinter 14. You are doing a great job.
