Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
I have listed some of the guys that I think are key returning players, but I'm sure I missed some guys, so forgive me. I was only able to see a handful of games in person last season.
Blake McCoy (SR) - RB/DB
Kendall Neal (SR) - TE/LB
Matt Humphreys (JR) - OL/LB
Reid Evans (JR) - WR/DB
Caleb Storms (SR) - RB/DB
Chucky Morris (SR) - OL/DL
Steven Snyder (SR) - OL/DL
Brent Lewis (SR) - OL/DL
Steven Lyon (SR) - OL/DL
Blake Priest (SR) - OL/DL
Peyton Speakman (SR) - QB/DB
Brice Graham (SO) - RB/DB
Caleb Haller (JR) - FB/LB
Cooper Donaldson (JR) - WR/DB
The offense obviously loses Hall at QB and Farley at RB, but they do return one of the most dynamic players in the area in Blake McCoy at RB/WR. The offensive line returns Morris, Humphreys, Lewis, and Snyder who all started or had significant playing time. Caleb Storms will return at FB and Brice Graham also saw action at RB as a freshman this season. Reid Evans will return at WR, along with Cooper Donaldson. It'll be interesting to see who ends up playing QB. Speakman will be a senior, Neal has played QB in the past, and I believe the freshman QB this season (Ty Ruckel) may have a shot as well.
Defensively, Jackson loses some impact players in Williams and Roseberry, but they do return Neal and Humphreys at LB and McCoy and Evans in the secondary. Those four guys are as good as anyone in the area at their positions, in my opinion. Graham saw significant playing time in the secondary last season. It'll be interesting to see what the D-Line looks like since there will be several guys competing for playing time.
Overall, I think Jackson will be very talented and more experienced this season. The 2016 team played some very difficult games that I think will benefit them during the 2017 season. If this group works hard in the off-season, they can accomplish great things next season and compete for the 1st FAC championship.
The schedule, to my knowledge, has some questions marks. I would assume that Wellston and Wheelersburg will be in the schedule, and I would also assume that Weeks 6-10 will be league games against Chillicothe, Court House, Miami Trace, McClain, and Hillsboro. I had heard that Gallia Academy would be back on the schedule, but no idea if that's true. Anyone have information on who will be filling Weeks 2-4, or what the FAC schedule will look like?

This looks good to me. As you said, definitely hope those Week 10 games are locked in every year.bsee12345 wrote:I have pieced together the FAC for 2017.

Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
So the schedule could look something like this based on the posts above. Gallia Academy is still VERY down, but that's a rivalry game for sure. Hopefully Western Brown would be improved, and obviously Wheelersburg is a great opponent. Will be interesting to see who ends up in the Week 2 spot.

I agree. Their program is very solid right now, so that would be a good game.Poo Bear wrote:That is the schedule
Week 2 I would like Bexley
Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
2017 will be a fun time for Jackson football
After a great 3 year run where Jackson went 28-7 with 3 Seoal titles , 2 playoff appearances , 3 playoff wins , topping 600 wins as a program . So many good memories and good player. 2017 will feature a shiny new league and many new faces and names. Many household names Will graduate and a lot of youngsters will be trying to make their mark in Jackson football history . Should have plenty of depth and kids will be competing for snaps. A lot of growing pains but will be fun to watch.
Time to hit the weight room . Try to return to the playoffs, win the first ever title In new league and do best to slow down the Burg Train as they visit alumni stadium

Really like to see them keep someone with a challenge in week two!
Last two years have been a good learning experience

It looks like Bexley is still showing an Open Date on the OHSAA wesbite, but maybe they just haven't removed the posting yet.
Bellevue or Sandusky Perkins would be a LONG trip, but could be interesting possibilities. DeSales or Mooney would certainly be challenges like Winton Woods and Midland this past year.

Not near the schedule you had this year, but still solid.
I say if you can get DeSales or Bexley, but preferably Desales in the Week 2 spot. Lol, surely they can't reload that quick from this year.
Good luck and we will see if we can't keep our record perfect at your place in Week 5

Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
Although Gallia Academy has been down, it is good to see that game on the schedule. That is an intense rivalry and has been for many years.
I would also like to see getting Logan back on the schedule whenever we can!!!
Bexley or Desales would be great additions in that week 2 spot, I also saw a Lancaster opening as well.

I may not be able to outsmart too many people, but I can outwork 'em.

Call Cabell Midland for week 2 return the game for this year.
Have Midland move their week 2 game against South Charleston to week 6 to open up week 2 to play Jackson.
I'll send Cabell Midland's Coach Luke Salmons a message about this possible matchup.

Interesting possibility. Obviously Midland would be a high-quality game. Hopefully Jackson could be a little more competitive this time around.
Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
I sent Coach salmons at Cabell midland a message.
He is 100% in favor of playing Jackson in week 2.
He knows that South Charleston will agree to move to week 6 to make room for Midland vs Jackson in week 2.
Someone at Jackson give Midland a call.

Re: Jackson ironmen 2017
That would be a phenomenal idea
It will have to be at Jackson as Jackson only has 4 home games as of now
But love the matchup
