Chesapeake Head Football Coaching Possition
I hear the name of two men for this possition at this time.
1.) Andy Clark- He has established himself, he has had many great JV seasons and he came back from Rock Hill after a short stint there b/c he was the Coach In Waiting after Coach Davis even though he was offered the Rock Hill job more than 1 time. He has been loyal to the School, Community and most of all the Kids.
2.) Chris Ball- His name has popped up in some conversation. He has been the Middle School Coach for 3years. His overall record is 12-9. This past season they were 0-8 but started mostly 7th graders. He also is a CHS High School Teacher and seems to have a good relationship with the players. Though im not sure if he is going to apply just for the fact he and Andy Clark are friends and he knows how much it would mean to him.
Also i have heard the BOE may look elsewhere.. Who knows which is true but IMO these two men would be the better Choice of all.

Would Wilcoxen, the Ironton guy who was at Fairland be interested in this job?

I have heard nothing but good things about the guy. Does somebody have an axe to grind here?Brent Wilcoxen will never be a head football coach in the tri-state area! IMO!
Re: Chesapeake Head Football Coaching Possition
I'd liketa see Clark; former outstanding Peake QB, all-around athlete, has studied to be a head FB coach, is loyal to the community.
I believe he wants the Peake job; it prolly took some soul-searching for him to turn down the Rock Hill job, what with new facilities & an excellent team at the time.

Lets go ahead and get this taken care of and hire Andy Clark, the kids love him and respond to him well and he is a top notch guy. He cares about their grades, how they are doing personally and he is from this community. He will stick with the base offense, but he won't be afraid to spread it out and utilize the talent he has. So lets hire him now so he can get his assistants hired and let them get to work.

Another question to ask, if they go outside the school to hire, would there be any teaching jobs available for a coach to come in from somewhere else?

Here's is the article from the Tribune. I have always had a lot of respect for coach Davis. I covered them for the last few years at various times, and he was always very nice and gracious when I spoke with him after games whether they won or lost.

EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
we can't lose that offense. . . its too versatile. . . you can morph it into anything.
The whole chesapeake program usually runs it from D-team to senior year!!
If Clark doesn't get it, it would be a mistake. . . .
I hate to think what will happen with the track aging and stadium in need of repair(ie illegally close to the highway, like a foot too narrow, track oblong in the same way)
