Oak Hill has two that are pretty close, so I will post both of them.

Bill Potter-1994 (Oak Hill went 9-1 that year). 2457 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns. Oak Hill ran the ball a lot that year

Westen Hale 2010- (Oak Hill went 11-2 that year) 2568 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. What is crazy about this year is Jesse Slone also threw for 2,000 yards the same year.

Are you sure that 2,112 wasn't for entire season, including playoffs?

Honestly can't remember the exact number for sure anymore. I was thinking like 2,182 yards and 34 TDs in the regular season. Thinking he had around 100 yards and at least 1 TD in the slop against Youngstown East in the '97 playoffs.

Saltzmen had the 2112 but the Athens Bulldogs did not make the playoffs his senior year. Us old guys were talking about that last week at early breakfast. The 7 rushing TD in one half is also a state record..

does anybody have any idea who is ironton's all time rushing leader.
we have had so many gifted backs and lines through the years. the actual yardage may surprise people whoever it is because ironton through the years ran a T-bone and utilized 3/4 backs a game. and the running aspect of their qb's. I think the number of whomever it is would surprise us and seem lower.because of the use of multiple backs.

I think Irontons would be lower than you think to because a lot of those guys didnt play a whole game. There was a lot of times Ironton was up 30 in the first half and let the starters set in the 2nd half.

I'd guess that Jermon Jackson might be Ironton's all-time and single season leader. Can't remember how many games he played as a sophomore, but his teams went to the state title game as a junior and senior, so I bet he racked up a lot of yards in those years.

Are you sure that 2,112 wasn't for entire season, including playoffs?

I went back and looked it up.Williams had 725 rushing yards in the 5 playoff games.That would leave him with 1564 yards in the regular season

Wonder how many yards Delandual Conwell had ? Probably the best Ironton back I ever saw.Went to Kentucky and was doing well until a neck injury ended his career.He Had the size of Bacon and the speed of Jackson.Imagine lining him up for a tackle.
