Re: Week 7 Symmes Valley @ EAST
Hoping for a Tartan victory! But, reality says... Symmes Valley 35 East 14.
The Double Wing works best for this type of team. With the weapons you have available, mediocre backs are good and good linemen especially better guards for pulling. Heck... Todd knows this... just ask your father-in-law. Darryl brought the Double Wing to East and absolutely could coach it better than anybody in the area. Nobody put numbers up like he did with the DW! Heck football clinics that were attended boosted of having 2500 yard seasons with a mediocre teams and we posted 3850 rushing yards the first season we had it! Todd knows, he was there too at those clinics. At least this way they can't just key on stopping one player... with this offense any back can strike at any time from anywhere.
But, to be fair to Todd... it is hard to change playbooks in the middle of the season!
Best of luck to the Tartan boys!

East loses their 4th in a row.
Did the Cragar boy get hurt? After getting over 1000 yards in his first 3 games you haven't a thing about him in the last 3.

He's been getting shut down. That's why you haven't heard of him recently.

SV will use the blueprint that Oak Hill used to slow Craiger down. SV is not nearly as good as the Oaks defensively IMO so I think this game stays close through the half but SV pulls away by 2 scores and wins.

Symmes Valley's ground attack will continue to churn out big yardage in this one, and the Vikings will win by multiple touchdowns. With as run-oriented as both teams are, I'd be willing this game will be quick moving on the clock! Best of luck to both teams. I will always cheer for coach Webb and coach Gilliland.

Re: Week 7 Symmes Valley @ EAST
With the Tartans coming into this game with 3 straight losses, it is now gut check time. I know some of these kids do check out these boards to see what's being said because I used to be one of those kids. It is a little demoralizing when not many people are giving thier team much of a chance at winning games. So I think the Tartans have a chance at winning this game. Of course it's going to have to take a good week of practice and a good game plan no matter who you are and who you are playing. With the exception of Elliot, this O-Line is young, but have had 6 weeks experience in games and should be ready and prepared. I would like personally to see a little more play action with Crager throwing high to Bias for some short yard passing situation, but I am not a coach and couldn't handle that much responsibillity.
I really haven't done very many predictions recent, but I am going to go ahead.
East- 27
SV- 21

Does SV have any players injured or out for this game? Rusty will run the full- house backfield as always; his coaching style is old school... three yards and a cloud of dust! He most certainly prefers to run over top of you than to throw over top. But, Rusty is a product of Darryl Davis; having coached a few years at East with Darryl Davis. Rusty also, has sort of another East product on his coaching staff; and that would be John Coriell's son as an assistant coach. Of course, John Coriell coached at East.
The ladies at Symmes Valley sure do know how to run a concession stand! Best concession food you will find at any high school game in the state! Kudos ladies! Maybe you could bring some of that food to Allard Park!

Re: Week 7 Symmes Valley @ EAST
Symmes Valley has all their starters this week, they should take care of business Friday. I love this team, I just wish they would start off strong and have a complete game. They will need this if they want to have a chance against Oak Hill. Alot of people are already thinking the Vikes do not have a chance against Oak Hill, I think it will be closer than people think. GO VIKES!

Good Luck East! You have a Viking that is complaining about not being given a chance against Oak Hill (on an East /SV thread)yet it appears to me he is discrediting East as a contender.
Looking ahead can get you in trouble.

Re: Week 7 Symmes Valley @ EAST
I agree... Coach Webb has always considered East as their rivalry. This was told to me a couple of years ago in the SV press box by the other coaches and the press box crew. Cause we were playing them and was talking about ND; I ask if ND was considered as their rival and they said; "Oh no! East is our rival!" And, they asked who's East's rival? I said definetly NOTRE DAME! Has been since me and dirt_cinders played against each other in 19 Hundred and 83! Lol!

I also agree coach Webb will keep the players focused. My reply was directed to VikingCountry.Coach Webb is very good at coaching the game and is one of the best coaches I have seen at knowing how to build relationships with others coaches. He and his assistants understand that part of the game (outside the game) better than most and as I would also, use it to their advantage.
Point in case: Axe left SV feeling better about himself and the East program --- and that is a great thing!

Axe did not make me feel better about Myself. All I said was Coach Webb will not let us overlook East and I know You was not implying that. Did not make that comment to agree or disagree with Vikingcountry. And as far as Axe there is very little I agree with Him on. To get on here and bash an AD for playing Green 2 times in 1 Year I am sure the Head Coach was in on that also. As a School Board Member I fully understand why they did it. if Half of the People on here understood what it takes to Run a program or a School they would wonder how we even get to Play a Team in the next County. I do however agree with him on the Ladies that run the Concession Stand they are the best! Had to add that 1 of them is my Wife.

I'll trade you AD's... and your AD can be our new coach too! Coach Webb is still the AD too; isn't he?s.v.vikinglinex2 wrote:Axe did not make me feel better about Myself.
