Don't be fooled by Logan Chillicothe game last night, Chillicothe was alot worse than most people thought. That being said look for Gallia to roll by 21 points over the Chiefs.

Is that statement supposed to be a psych job? The Devils will not take the Chiefs lightly especially after last year. ;-)

Big game. The result will have major implications for the SEOAL title. GAHS controls their own destiny. Win the last two weeks and their champions and playoff bound.

Logan needs to win out and some help. Logan played their best game of the season on Friday. They will need to exceed that effort this week to beat the Blue Devils.

How bad was Chillicothe when they were beat by Gallipolis 20/07

Injuries didn't help chilli's cause Friday night 2 starters didn't make the trip lost 6 more during the game and in the first quarter they had to use a freshman tailback.Logan knows how that feels dealing with all those injuries, but that's football happens to everyone.Logan controlled the line of scrimmage and thats where the game was won, amazing Logan still has something to play for.Gallia probably wins this by 2 touchdowns or more, but I'll gladly eat crow again if the chiefs can serve it up!

Gallia needs to turn up the defense a little more. Logan shall be contender if we dont play fundamentally well. Gallia in this one tho.

Logan is a good running school, but the devils defense will shut there run down because most of the points that the devils give up is passing and it going to be hard for Logan to score with only running the ball the whole game

Chiefs expect big battle
at Logan Friday evening

Coach Kelly Wolfe’s Logan Chieftains (2-6 and 2-1 SEOAL)) expect a big battle Friday evening when Coach Mike Eddy’s Gallia Academy Blue Devils (6-2 & 3-0) visit spacious Logan stadium in a key Southeastern Ohio Athletic League contest. Kickoff time is 7:30 p.m.

It will be the 79th meeting between the two charter league members. Logan holds an upper hand in the series with 40 wins, 37 losses and one tie, including seven wins in the past eight years. GAHS won at Logan 41-17 in 2010, but the Chiefs upset Gallipolis in 2011 14-3 for their only win in 10 games.

Logan opened its season with a 42-7 loss to Lancaster. Columbus Northland edged LHS 32-26 on Aug. 31. Newark edged Logan 35-32 on Sept. 7. The following week, LHS was beaten 35-0 by Jonathan Alder. Nelsonville-York surprised Logan 50-0 on Sept. 21.

The Chiefs opened SEOAL play with a 34-13 triumph over Portsmouth, then lost 31-20 to Jackson on Oct. 5. Last week, Logan downed Chillicothe, 28-7.

The Chiefs are averaging 18.4 points per game and giving up 30.6.

Gallipolis opened its season with a 52-34 win over Athens, then lost 21-7 to Licking Hts., in its home opener. Following a 14-13 loss to Ironton, GAHS has recorded five straight wins, 40-12 over Vinton County, 63-13 over Marietta, 20-7 over Chillicothe, 49-21 over Portsmouth and 52-21 over Warren Local.

Gallipolis is averaging 37 ppg and giving up 17.8.

Logan has 14 lettermen returning from last year’s squad, which finished 1-9, including four two-year lettermen. LHS has 12 starters returning from the 2011 squad—six offensive and six defensive.

Key returnees include Jack Music, quarterback, Cory McCarty, running back and linebacker, Nick Kost, running back and linebacker, Garrett Tutwiler, linebacker, Charles Paulson, two-way lineman, Brock Emerson, two-way lineman, Caleb Branson, two-way lineman, Dylan Manley, offensive line and Allen Mulford, defensive line.

Logan has 13 seniors on this year’s squad.

At Gallipolis last year, Logan led 7-0 after one quarter, 7-3 at halftime and three quarters, then made it 14-3 to hand GAHS its first league loss. The Chiefs and Blue Devils had 10 first downs apiece, but Logan out-rushed GAHS, 153 to 119. Logan completed two of 10 passes for 31 yards, giving the Chiefs 184 total yards from scrimmage in 53 plays.

McCarty paced the Chiefs with 180 yards rushing in 29 trips and scored both Logan touchdowns on runs of 57 yards and 21 yards.

Friday’s probable offensive starting lineup for Logan:

Watched Gallia take advantage of 5 Warren turnovers and get points on 4 of them. Warren moved the ball well and did have the turnovers, not taking anything away from Gallia. Warren was inside the 10, inside the 5, inside the 20 twice in the third qtr, came away with "O" points and it was not great defense that stopped Warren. Warren ran up 16 1st downs, and 360 plus yards in Offense. Gallia is a well coached team and took advantage of what was presented them as any good team will do. They had better not be looking ahead or it might be a long bus trip back to Gallipolis. If Logan takes care of the ball this should be a tighter game than one might think and playing at Logan is a tough place for the visitors, Logan comes out and supports their team. This game seems to look like it could be a coin toss game. Hope both teams come out injury free.
