New Boston (yes, they did have football) had Ed Thompson go onto play at Ohio State University. Ed was a 1972 graduate of NB, and along with being a standout football player, he was also a 1000 pt scorer in basketball.
Ed began getting actual playing time his sophomore season at Ohio State; He was a middle linebacker. He eventually became captain his senior year for the 1976 Buckeyes team, they won the Orange Bowl that year defeating the Colorado Buffaloes.
Ed is 8th all-time on Ohio State's list of career tackles with 338 total, and he is 7th on the list for season tackles with 149 in 1976.
Upon graduating, Ed was drafted in the 1977 NFL draft by the NY Jets in the 8th round. Also as a note...Ed's son was the Kirk "The Crusher" Thompson, a standout player for the Portsmouth Trojans years back.

Logan sent Bob McBride (1940) and John Gasser (1966) to Notre Dame where both would become starters.
Logan sent Bob Courter to Wisconsin.
Logan sent Lynn Straight (1958), Robbie Johnson (1964), Josh Jackson (1992), Brooks Burris (1994), and Derek Harden (2002) to Ohio State where Johnson (LB), Jackson (K), and Burris (OT) all started. Harden walked on and was a 3-year letterwinner.
Also sent Tom Smith (1993) and Chuck Kemper (1968) to Ohio University.
THat's off the top of my head. I think there have been a number of others who played at OU over the years including a few back in the '30s but I'd have to dig into my records for those.

From Amanda-Clearcreek, the only two to receive D1 (FBS) scholarships that I am aware of were:
the late Corey Estell (Miami University)
Dan Davis (Eastern Michigan)
A few others may have been walk-ons/practice squad players, but I don't believe any of those ever lettered or played much, if at all.
A few have also played at the FCS (formerly D1AA) level:
Brad Miller (Robert Morris)
Tyler Bowersock (Dayton)
perhaps a few others, but I'm not sure
Many have played at the D2, D3, and NAIA levels.

Depending on when the players attended Morehead, but they are now Non-Scholarship Division I, they play in the PFL, which is non-athletic aid, but does give qualifying students financial aid based on playing the sport. These schools compete in small scale football, but their schools have DI basketball, which gives them a potential larger revenue base than other non-scholarship NCAA Levels.Ironman92 wrote:Jackson
