#3 Wahama (13-0) takes on #4 Madonna (12-1) for the West Virginia "A" State Championship. The game will be played at Wheeling Island on 1 Dec at 7 pm.

Wahama beat Madonnna last season 33-0. But that's just food for thought.
I really think Wahama will win this game. They play better on turf and just beat, in my opinion, the best team in the playoffs (Magnolia) on the road... and on grass.

I would love to see Wahama bring home a title! They were good even back when I played HS football in the '60s & I had assumed they'd won at least one state title. But I'd 'assumed' incorrectly.

Hard to believe, but some idiots back in those days tried to make something racial outta the "White Falcon" handle. If they'd bothered to STUDY a little before motormouthing, they woulda found that the white falcon, or gyrfalcon, is the largest falcon subspecies, sometimes attaining a wingspan of five feet! It is the royal bird of Iceland, & the official bird of Canada's Northwest Territories. It was held in high esteem for centuries by the royalty of Europe, and even today, is a favorite bird used by falconers, and is very expensive to obtain. Falconers use them to even hunt swans & geese!

The white falcon is the most-noble of falcon species, a worthy mascot for any school. Nothing racial about that!

The people of Wahama were always the epitome of good hosts whenever we went there to play them at any sport, and I am told they still are.

On a side note, Wahama and the TVC have been a good fit for both. Wahama has been in the WV state title game 2 times in the past 3 years and the past 3 years they have been a member of the TVC.
