Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
Bishop Ready is 3-0 this year and coming off of a 2013 performance that saw them barely lose in the state D6 semi's (final four) to Kirtland which ultimate won it in the championship game.
I imagine we will see a very crisp, flawlessly executed Wing T offense and a fundamentally sound defense. First year at Bishop Ready head coach Cross brings a superb resume (formerly Grove City and Olenangy) to a very good program used to success...very tough test for the Ironmen.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
This will be a very interesting game. If Ready pulls off the W then that means HUGE playoff points. This will be the best team Ready has faced as well as Jackson.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
Jackson has faced so far three very dissimilar opponents and next week will face yet another different style in Bishop Ready.
Wellston is always a very intense rivalry game where emotions and momentum swings can affect the outcome, it is more personal since a lot of the kids know each other within the county and community, and the Rockets have some weapons in their program.
Waverly was just bigger but not as quick as what we faced in Week 1 but we were severely outsized particularly on the lines and as the evening wore on we wore down but the guys in the trenches gutted out and awesome performance against an improved program.
West Jefferson came to town last night coming off a final 4 appearance in the D5 playoffs losing in the semi-final to eventual state champion and always formidable Coldwater. A spread team offensively that puts 11 athletes on the field and can literally score at any time. Although they lost a good deal from last year we adapted to a style that was way different than Weeks 1 and 2.
Now comes Bishop Ready (another 2013 final four team) with yet another different style we will need to defend. My guess is a flawless and crisply ran Wing T or variation thereof that we will have to figure out. From spread to Wing T in 6-days lol.
My guess is the defenses of both squads will determine this game, plus field position, plus special teams and turnovers. A field goal here or there may be how this game is decided...as always Go Red.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
The Ready vs Jackson match-up is a tough call in my mind.
To give the Bishop Ready faithful a little bit of behind the scenes take from SE Ohio, this is Apple Festival week here in Jackson lol, and you wouldn't think that be a big deal for 15-17 year olds but it is lol when there isn't anything else to do. No school on Wednesday due to parades and other festivities that a lot of the kids are involved in, so players will be a little off schedule. Add to that a little bit of relief or let down after the West Jefferson win and I think chances are we could be flat for a quarter or two. I think advantage may be a little on the Ready side unless we can get back on a schedule and get after it. Just some thoughts.
If you are a Ready fan traveling south under no circumstances take the first couple exits at Broadway or Morton, they will be detoured. Take 32 exit toward Cincy then either 93 or 139 from there avoid town. Look forward to hosting the Silver Knights and welcoming them to Alumni Stadium.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
Bishop Ready ranked #3 in D6 State AP Poll out today.
Other teams of local interest are: Athen #3 im D3 and Wheelersburg #3 in D5 and Trimble #2 in D7.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
Jackson has to use somewhat of the same strategy as last week. Run the ball and keep the ball away from Ready. I feel like we can compete against this team in a very good manner. I know coach Hall and the rest of the coaching staff will make sure the players are prepared. It's then up to the guys to avoid the distractions of the "festival" and put on a great performance Friday night. Play as a Team and walk out of Alumni Stadium with a victory!

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
Statement game for both schools, more so for Jackson than Ready. Ready still has Loudonville and Hartley on the schedule.
Note: Ready is #2 in Division 6 according to the AP receiving 2 first place votes.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
I would say Jackson schedule after Ready is going to have a few statement games left as well.
Wheelersburg plus Logan (who plays Loudonville this week) and a much improved Ironton team that just beat Amanda at their place.
This one coming up Friday is going to be a dandy though. I agree it is more important to Jackson than Ready if you are looking at playoff picture.

Is anyone going to the game? Unfortunately I won't be able to make it but would appreciate if anyone is able to give periodic updates.

Re: Week 4 Jackson vs. Ready
I was told that Jackson is missing 2 key starters tonight due to injury
