Burg is a tough team but st. Clairesvill is also in there and I wouldn't count Hartley out. They lost to 2 good teams 1 of the will most likely be state champs again this year!

Just about 3 weeks too early to start thinking in this tangent, need to see some more football first.

my early guess says burg , coshocton, st clairsville, liberty union, martins ferry in no paticular order just yet are 5 of the teams! leaving 3 spots up for grabs between many teams!

Bishop Hartley may fall to 0-3 after this week. But if they sneak in there is gonna be a team with a home playoff game that isn't gonna be really happy.

They barely lost at defending D5 champ Coldwater and to a defending state champ from Michigan. They are the best team in Region 17.

With a schedule like Bishop Hartley has, you proabably only need 5 wins to make the playoffs. I agree that if someone gets a home game and ends up with them coming to town, it isn't going to be a good night. At 9-1 last year, they ran away with the computer points and had more than triple the points they needed to make the playoffs.

According to Drew Pasteurs site, Hartley has the 4th toughest schedule of 722 teams in Ohio. They are almost a lock for the playoffs with 4 wins and 5 wins likely gets a home game. Here's the link http://www.fantastic50.net/Ohio_Region_17.php

Hartley is 0-2 and they are still ranked second in the JJHuddle D5 Power Poll. I know it's just a poll but it has to mean something.

Westfan, burg would be 0-2 with Hartley's schedule as well. Not a shred of doubt in my mind. If they get in the playoffs they will break some hearts!

No. It is updated every week. That is the Week 3 version.
They have Wheelersburg 8th. Of course it could be skewed. They still have Ironton 21st. ;-) Just kidding.

http://www.jjhuddle.com/2014/09/10/ohio ... -rankings/

This just shows that Harbin Points can be skewed. Political Polls are probably not the answer, especially for us in Southern Ohio but a strength of schedule factor of some sort (besides secondary points) may be something to look at. Just think about it. At the end of the year local teams may get better points off beating Northwest or Rock Hill, then beating Portsmouth. I know Portsmouth isn't great, but something is wrong there.

Just get to the dance and anything can happen. Favorites make mistakes and lose ballgames every year.
*It would be best to avoid Hartley and Liberty Union for as long as possible in this region however. :122249

Coldwater beat a Kenton team that lost their coach. Coldwater beat a Hartley team that lost to a D7 Michigan team. Like playing Portsmouth Notre Dame. Im not sold on either Coldwater or Hartley this year. Im trying to find info on the turnover of Hartley players from last year. Not a good search so far. After only 2 weeks in the season, its hard to predict anything. Burg is playing good ball on both sides of the ball. But with Fairland and Portsmouth 0-2 so far, and if that continues, we could travel in week 1 of the playoffs.

No, they aren't like playing Portsmouth Notre Dame at all but more like playing Marion Local. The Crusaders are ranked #1 in the state in their division this week. Now imagine Hartley playing the Titans and you can see what a silly correlation your statement is. BTW, Kenton would manhandle ANY team in Scioto County year.
