Alex penrod has officially been named the new head coach at Alexander high school, I want to congratulate coach penrod on his first head coaching position , to the people of Alexander school district . You are getting a really good coach and even a better person , while I lament the loss of Alex as he leaves gallia academy, it is without hesitation that I impress upon the good people of Alexander , what a tremendous young coach you're getting. His work ethic and ability to relate to the young people is without a doubt his greatest asset, with that said , his knowledges of the game is impressive . I'm sure there will be the naysayers that will say he's unproven. But I assure you you'll be impressed with his leadership . Good luck coach p

This is an excellent hire. I know the Penrod family and coached Alex in the Logan Comets. Very intelligent young man. Though young and unproven as a head coach, he will do well there. I think he wasn't hired at Logan (if he applied) last year because his dad is the president of the Logan-Hocking school board and they didn't want a conflict of interest situation up there. (just a guess)........

Good hire.

There are no guarantees when hiring a head football coach.

But Coach Penrod is hungry, and I think more than capable of building upon the foundation that Coach Arno has laid in Albany. Certainly their are challenges competing in a league with Nelsonville-York, Athens, and Meigs who have more successful traditions, but Penrod will know that going in.

Alexander hit a home run with this hire. Penrod has been close to getting a job at several other schools. It was a matter of time until someone made him their first choice.

IMO, it's Alexander's gain and Gallia Academy's loss.

Yep. Devils loss is a gain for the Sparty's. Not the easiest place to coach football, but he will do a good job. He'll continue the progress that Arno made.
