Was told at a local watering hole that Beaver Local and East Liverpool were joining the conference.
I'd thought Bellaire was leaving, but it must've had a change of heart.

Tough conference! As fast as Bellaire is shrinking, I can't imagine how they will remain competitive in this conference with the larger schools. The mighty Big Red are mighty no more.

Beaver and EL have been down and will find that league attractive. Beaver is running from the All American Conference in the Warren-Youngstown area where they got eaten alive. EL often played teams from Ytown and the Canton area. Both should find wins in that league.
Re: Buckeye 8 to become Buckeye 10 Conference
I think it's supposed to be split into North/South Divisions so a school could play some WV schools, etc, because that's one heckuva bus trip from Bellaire to Beaver, or Beaver to Union Local.
Re: Buckeye 8 to become Buckeye 10 Conference
Bellaire is out. Must be some other school to make the 10. Off the Bellaire schedule for next season is IC and John Marshall, new Ridgewood and Bishop Ready.........but who knows, things might and could change.

Re: Buckeye 8 to become Buckeye 10 Conference
Every school in this conference is losing enrollment. In 2 yrs Ferry and UL will be D6. StC and Harrison have lost big as well. Buckeye lost the most since 2000. Creek the only one not suffering. Bellaire will be fine!
Bellaire has a 2 yr deal with Ridgewood and Bishop Ready (both at home in 2014). They replace Harrison and Creek. JM still on it for now, but Goodrich forced Cambridge to drop the Reds after a 10 yr losing skid, so it could be soon. Bellaire beat EL last year, could not get the Potters to commit to another game. Reds have never played Ridgewood, Ferry did last 2 yrs. Bellaire is 3-0 against Ready: beat them in the 80s, then swept them in 02 and 03 (02 game was definitely a big upset as qb was horrible, like 7-30-70yds, and Ready made the playoffs).
Buckeye 8 will not survive, as predicted in 07. UL announced it is out, but where Bellaire will still play its regular opponents and Buckeye Local...UL has refused to commit to any future certainty toward playing Bellaire, Ferry, or even rival StC. They said it was a competition thing. Don't be shocked if they try to join the PVC as River leaves that. Whether they get in is another story. I expect Edison to be the next to leave the B8.

After reading the OV boards, I doubt this is going to work and am sure you have not heard the last of it. The league is in flux and lots of team movements coming in the next few years. Very unsettled.
Re: Buckeye 8 to become Buckeye 10 Conference
Union Local would never go to the PVC. Like someone suggested earlier, all of these schools are in the OVAC, it's just a extra bonus if you're in another league to get all-league mention
