Logan 54 Portsmouth 27

Post by loganlocos »

SEOAL Opener for both teams.

Each coming off HUGE rivalry wins on the road.

Both schools with new coaches looking to make a statement in what could be a wide open SEOAL.

Should be a great football game. Can't wait till Friday!

Even with the early losing, I look for the Chiefs to challenge for the SEOAL title. I'm expecting them to beat Portsmouth to start the run for the title.

Sky Oliver led PHS in win over Ironton. He's an outstanding athlete and just a junior. If Chiefs can't stop him, Logan may be in for a tough league opener.

should be a great one to open the SEOAL slate, I like the Trojans in this one, but travel will play a part. Hope everyone has a safe trip that decides to march in that direction Go Trojans

Think this will be a good one. New season this week. Taking Portsmouth in a close one.

I like the Trojans in this one, if they play like they did the other night. Sky Oliver was a great move to QB, he's very elusive with good vision of the field and he has some pretty good recievers to throw to. Johnny Charles is amazing to watch on both sides of the ball, he just amazes you with his ability to make you miss him when he's got the ball.

the Trojans played a fine game against the fighting tigers, but we are in total shambles right now.

Must say "As a Burg Fan"...I am happy that Portsmouth is making better strides. Years past after 3 early losses and losing star player they would have folded but not this group...Charles is great and Sky is putting a new charge in their offense. New coachSparks doing a good job of keeping "Spark" in these players. Good luck in league play.

Calpreps says
[2013] Portsmouth (OH) 22, [2013] Logan (OH) 21

And i agree with this one.

I don't know much about Logan, but I'm pulling for a Trojan victory on Friday night. It'll be interesting to see if Sky can excel again like he did at Ironton.

This will also be my first trip to Logan. Are there any places worthwhile eating at before/after the game? Any place that can compete with The Ribber?

scarlet and gray -

When I write my Scouting Report of Portsmouth for the Logan Daily News this week I'm going to be comparing the mirror images that Logan and Portsmouth are.

Both have underachieved recently.

Both have new head coaches.

Both started with difficult schedules.

Both have switched QBs this season.

Both got big wins over rivals away from home last week.

Both looking to start strong SEOAL campaigns.

The outlook for this game is for Logan to win at home vs. Portsmouth. After a tough non-league schedule again for Logan, the SEOAL looks to be extremely weak this year. Logan has 3 home league games and 1 on the road. Highly favorable. And Logan appears to be improving after a tough start against some tough teams. They also are getting healthy having had 15 players out at one time. If the coach can get them playing tough D, they will be in all the remaining games except the road game in Zanesville. Devils there will be too fast and athletic for the Chiefs. But the SEOAL is another matter. The league starts now and Logan should compete. Good Luck, Chiefs.

I don't like Millstone, the bbq is ok but not great for the prices. Pizza Crossing has the BEST pizza anywhere in my opinion. Jack's though an older place with a dive bar look to it has some really good food at a reasonable price.

This game should be pretty good, the big question is does Logan have enough team speed to hang with P-Town? If yes the Chiefs win, if not.....
