2013 Warriors

Post by Auburntgrfan »

:-D This years edition of Warren Warriors. Weight lifting is going in full force. Warriors will have to replace, Leff, Miller, Vincent, Kuhn at the skill positions, Barrows and Richards on the line. But will return much of its interior line led by Tyler Welch, looking for Massey, Powell, Pahl, Pike, Schaffer, Smith, Cisler and Scott to step up their game in the pits. QB will be up for grabs with Klintworth, Johnson and Little Henthorn as possibilities. Several good prospects for running back in Isner and McDermott, Farnsworth, Huck and Balderson possibly as leaders there. Defense secondary will be young and have to grow fast in the SEOAL. Any thoughts form the faithful?

schedule not favorable for a winning season with alot of inexperience going to be on the field. picked up parkersburg high, parkersburg south, and will face a big and athletic east liverpool team. athens will be very good, gallia and jackson (what can you say- we don't beat them) logan could be better but still not there yet, new coach at portsmouth (so they are kinda unknown), marietta will be good and meigs is going to still struggle. look for 2-8 or 3-7. warren will have problems with a trigger man in their new spread offense! IMO
parkersburg high 0-1
marietta 0-2
athens 0-3
parkersburg south 0-4
meigs 1-4
jackson 1-5
east leverpool 1-6
gallia 1-7
portsmouth 1-8
logan 2-8

I think we will be in the 4 -6 range. This is a pretty tough schedule. Not sure about Easat Liverpool, but I think we can get Marietta, Meigs, Logan, and have a chance with either Parkersburg South or Portsmouth. Hoping for at least .500.

Heard that they are looking at more Wing-T and read option, with the pass off the option. Right about the schedule PHS will be alot better this year, very young last season, South has a new coach??? this year, East Liverpool ugh, Marietta, Meigs will suprise people this year had some good soph's last year, Athens another ugh, Portsmouth and Logan are possibilities for wins. Jackson and Gallia not so much. Could be an interesting season.

Who does Warriors scrimmage?

Could someone post the Warren scrimmages please?

Warren getting Parkersburg as a opener might be the best time for Warren to play the Big Reds.
We also will be breaking in a few new assistant coaches and a new look on offense.
Parkersburg will be better in 2013 if they do 1 major thing;
"Hit someone in the mouth for 48 minutes."

warren was wing-t last year, but the new offensive coordinator HATES the wing-t. he is a complete spread and inside/outside zone coach. it's all he really knows. look for spread with 3 and 4 wides and alot of passing. you'll see the 3-3 stack defensively with alot of blitzing. lots of pressure being put on the defensive backs.

Knew there was a shake=up of some staff members. Who is the new offensive co-odinator. Havn't heard. But I hope that who-ever it is guides the "O" by what the talent pool provides, not does not try to run a plow horse against a race horse. Adapt to what the kids are capable of.

With Sean Smith as the O C, you will see a lot of spread looks but still a bunch of running by your backs.
He comes to Warren from Parkersburg High.
It will depend on what the other team puts in the box on each play rather the QB gets to pass or hand off.
1 thing for certain your players had better be in shape, cause his offense can ran 3 plays in about 30 seconds and the defense is right back on the field.

I was never a fan of his spread offense, but Sean can call a really good offenses game.

Getting Matt Shamblin from Parkersburg South will bring young blood into your program.
One thing about Matt he is a proven winner.

Watched Shamblin play in HS. He was to say the least an "Intense" individual. Played as hard in the last 30 seconds as he did in the first 30. Warren's boys had better hit the cardio hard this summer those that do will do well. Those that have better things to do or just figure to show up in August will be greatly disappointed with their playing time or lack of it. Sounds like Coach Schob is beginning to assemble some solid young members of his staff. Still has a couple that need looked at, but getting better at the coaching level. Now if the kids buy in and believe in the guys in charge and get on board with the off-season. Good things are in the offing for the Warriors. Wish them all a great summer and a even better fall.

Andrew Vincent has decided to attend Ohio Northern and will be playing for the Polar Bears this fall. Miller and Vincent could be facing each other on opposite side of the field when Marietta and Ohio Northern face off this fall.
Congrats the Andrew....

Just looked at the OHSAA web site: (http://www.ohsaa.org/members/hsenroll13.htm#W) enrollment numbers.
Southeast Boys 279 AAA, Girls 263 AAA, these numbers for Warren.....

The 2013-214 and 2014-15 OHSAA FINAL enrollments and representation classifications were approved
by the Board of Directors on May 30, 2013.
OHSAA fall tournament divisions will be posted after the Board of Directors approval in June.

The FINAL enrollment figures are based on the enrollment of students with athletic participation opportunities
in grades 9, 10 and 11 as of October 2012.

More fun.......for the Warriors.
