week8: wheelersburg @ Minford

Post by BurgGrad6 »

Burg seems to be firing on all cylinders and minford is improving each week. Both defense's have been playing well. What are some thoughts?

Burg 35
Minford 7

The Falcons play very good defensively but needs to either cause a few turnovers or be able to have long drives offensively to stay in the game.

Burgs offense hasn't been stopped yet and is much better than it was in week 1 against Ironton.

Burg is the faster team for sure. It will be interesting to see if Minford can be more physical.

Being at Minford is the only advantage they have in this one. Burg is probably better in every aspect of the game. If the Falcons offense has struggled against much inferior teams they will really have a hard time scoring on Burg.

I see Wheelersburg continuing to roll. I got the Pirates winning 42-14

I think everybody will be surprised by the final score in this one. Burg is the better team by a landslide offensively, but nobody has been able to move the ball against Minford all season either. If not for very short field turnovers, or special teams td's, Minford would not have allowed very many points at all. Each of the 2 games they lost against West and Columbus, they had twice as many offensive yards, but turnovers kept them from scoring. This is the best offense Minford has seen all year, but easily the best defense Wheelersburg will see all year long too. This game is a must win if Minford wishes to play in Week 11 and they know it. With limited turnovers, they are capable of winning a low scoring game. But if they have problems like a few other games this year, Burg will take advantage of short fields and blow it wide open. Good luck to both teams!!

Sorry Falcons! I'll say the Burg takes this one by 3 or 4 tds.

Cal Preps:

Wheelersburg 35
Minford 6

I look for a potential running clock in the 2nd half. Burg by at least 21

Minford is having problems being consistent on offense. On paper it should not be close but everyone knows the game is not played on paper. Coach Daniels will have the Falcons prepared to play but IMO, Burg just has too much this year.

Minford is good against the run between the tackles with Madden and Daniels. Burg will spread Minford out and expose their lack of speed on the perimeter.

I imagine there will be some peeking ahead into Week 9 a bit by the Pirates and with the game being at Minford it will allow the Falcons to play them tough for a quarter or so but once the Burg gets their feet under them I think they pull away.

31-7 or so final.
