2018 Lancaster Golden Gales

A super early thread on the 2018 Gales Football Team.

Lancaster loses several key players to graduation such as Shea Goss but will return a great core group of players lead by QB Tyler Monk who did a great job running Lancaster’s wing-t offense last season and even proved to be a very capable passer out of that offense. They need to develop more young talent to be ready for the season to eliminate players going both ways. This really hurt them as games against teams with deeper rosters went into the 4th quarter week after week. With a tough schedule again this year they will have to play near perfect football to make the playoffs

They can’t complain about our tall grass (unless we custom order the tallest field turf ever made) but they will always think they are getting homered by the refs..lol

Hopefully Logan has the chance to start coming to Fulton Field on a regular basis again.

Can’t accuse them of scheduling weak non-conference games. If they make the playoffs the will definitely have earned it for sure.

Springfield(6-4) will be athletic and playing a smaller De Sales(6-4) team is mostly a tough game, even for bigger schools.

League schedule has two teams that should be really bad (Newark(1-9) & Grove City(1-9)

Not a bad schedule overall.

No big deal. I know from 20 years of following the OCC as a Lancaster fan that most fans don’t consider them Conference (crossover) game. Each division considers themselves their own conference since there is no over all conference champion crowned in any sport each year and those “crossover” games don’t count towards conference titles.

Expecting LHS to have a good season, but they have some key pieces that will be hard to replace. I know the Wing-T isn’t the “come from behind” offense, but at least it’s a fundamentally sound brand of football that the Gales know and embrace.
