Trojan Coliseum
Drove by Portsmouth’s stadium and I believe they are putting in new turf? Can anyone confirm, any pics of what it’ll look like? Thanks!

They are putting new turf. It’s well past due. I think the old turf has been on since 2009 maybe. I need to get down there and snap a few pictures

Re: Trojan Coliseum
Think I’ve read turf last anywhere from 10-12 years depending on how well it’s been maintained. I believe the old turf was installed when the coliseum first opened in 2009. You could see some bad spots in the turf, especially the red end zone, it had some color deterioration to it. So it seems like it’s the right time to instal new turf. I’m glad to see a new field, hopefully the Trojans will put it to good use, even if not it’ll look nice. Lol

Mean to tell me there’s not a “Parker” that’s fixing to get to run wild on the new turf ???

Lol nope. This year is going to look really different for Portsmouth. I’m curious to see how the roster looks opening game. A lot of spots are open due to a ton of seniors graduating.

From my understanding, there will be alternating light and dark 5 yard segments and the end zones will be blue. I think the yard line segments will be arranged in what's called a watermelon style.

I'd be on the lookout for some fresh legs coming up. I saw some promising running potential when Talyn was out. Donavon Carr and Alberto Poxes (most likely fullback maybe?) are potential solid players. Donavon looked promising during the River Valley game. He had a 40 yd or so touchdown and some other solid carries.Beergogglebluez wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 7:45 am Lol nope. This year is going to look really different for Portsmouth. Re: Trojan Coliseum
9 of 11 starters on defense are gone, so a major retooling on that side of the ball will most likely determine how the Trojans will fare in 2020.

Re: Trojan Coliseum
The new turf looks good! It doesn't appear that soccer lines were added. Why wouldn't they put those lines on there since they have a soccer team now?

Re: Trojan Coliseum
My guess would be they are contracted with Shawnee State to play their home soccer matches down there. That said you would think they would have added them, contracts expire eventually if that happens to be the case. This could be very wrong, I have no clue honestly, just taking my best guess.

One of the nicest stadiums in the area! Love the new turf! Looking forward to watching some games there this fall!
